<peacedove>Having lost to WBA last Saturday Liverpool facing the champion at home on Sunday.I believe Liverpool have a point to
prove by denting the champion's hope of retaining the title,Lawro have an idea he is predicting 1:1 draw.I am going to be bold and
predict Liverpool win.Liverpool 2:1 Manchester City.

    Other fixtures and predictions:

    Saturday 25th August 2012.

    Swansea V West Ham 2:1

    Aston Villa V Everton 1:1

    Man Utd V Fulham 3:1

    Norwich V QPR 2:2

    Southampton V Wigan 2:1

    Sunderland V Reading 2:1

    Tottenham V West Brom 3:1

    Chelsea V Newcastle 2:1

    Sunday 26th August 20
    Stoke V Arsenal 1:1

    Liverpool V Man City 2:1

    Lawro's Verdict

Liverpool v Man City (16:00 BST)
The bottom line for Liverpool is where are their goals going to come from apart from Luis Suarez and, occasionally, Steven Gerrard?

Their defeat against West Brom last week was the first time I had seen their new striker Fabio Borini for 90 minutes and he looked very peripheral to me.

You have got to give Reds boss Brendan Rodgers time to get things right but I hope he gets the fact that Liverpool fans expect their side to win every game - or at least to try to win every game - because that was one of the things Roy Hodgson did not get at Anfield.

    Liverpool look for goals
"Liverpool have been linked with Manchester City winger Adam Johnson, who is a talented player who will create more chances for them, but for me they need somebody to take them. Should they sign Johnson or a striker? For me, a striker should be the priority. It's just blatantly obvious they need somebody else, to take the pressure off Luis Suarez and potentially make a big difference by turning a lot of draws into wins."

On the issue of goals, I would say that, although Joe Allen is a good player, did they really need him, or did they need somebody who can play up front with Suarez.

Anyone watching Liverpool last year knew that they needed somebody in alongside Suarez, who could play with him but also get their fair share of goals.

Looking at the Liverpool team now, I just think they are going to have the same problems as last year, where the football was good and they dominated teams, but you could not see where the goals were coming from.

This game is massive for Liverpool, especially after the way they started the season. It is massive fixture anyway - arguably the visit of Manchester City is everybody's biggest game of the season.

City got the job done, just about, against Southampton last week but there were one or two little cracks at the back which might mean a few teams taking a look at how they were undone and think they can have a go at them.

I am at Anfield on Sunday and I am going to go for a draw. City keeper Joe Hart was outstanding to earn them a point in this game last season, and I think we will see the same outcome again.

    Prediction: 1-1 Match preview

I'd like us to kickstart our season with a headlining win. But I think a draw if we manage to keep Tevez under control.

    1-1

I've already got there before Lawro. I had a cynical whine this morning about the Paralympics having some people who aren't really disabled, then poured my coffee away because the milk was just starting to turn.
