Lawro's verdict : draw West Brom v Liverpool All eyes will be on Liverpool to see how they play under Brendan Rodgers but, let's face it, he is not going there and reinventing the wheel like some people seem to think. Lawro on Brendan Rodgers "Brendan Rodgers' target has to be to get Liverpool back in the top four but, right now, I don't think he has got enough quality. "So perhaps it might be more realistic for him to have a season where the top four looks a real possibility until the very end. The important thing is that he has to keep the fans and the owners happy." Liverpool have always played good football, but it was the quality in the final third that let them down at times last season. For me, Fabio Borini's partnership with Luis Suarez will be the key to how high up the table they finish. Steven Gerrard should be able to play further forward and Joe Allen and Lucas are both quality players in midfield. West Brom have had a busy summer too, and it is strange that Steve Clarke's first game as their manager after leaving his job as Liverpool's first-team coach is against his old club. I think Clarke will do well at The Hawthorns - he is a very good coach and he has inherited the nucleus of a strong side from Roy Hodgson. He should make a solid start here. Prediction: 1-1
