<peacedove>In the history of FA cup no game is an easy game. Liverpool vs Brighton on Sunday 19th
February.Kenny Dalglish would like to rest some players for the carling cup final the following Sunday, however,
he is still going to pick a strong team to see off Brighton. My prediction. Liverpool 3:1 Brighton.

lets face it the brum will play for a draw v the ski's and then beat them at home in fornt of a dog and two kids who snuck in...

everton are a small club, rafa said so so they are small minded and focused on surviving.

Bolton are useless but will want to survive so the cup is a distraction

norwich have utd to come so are bound to focus on the cup and get 3 injuries in winning.

sunderland at home? arsneal haven't a hope <laugh>

crawly wil ltake advantage of stokes awful away record and the eruopa league focus.

stevenage will crock bale and modric, grow the grass 6 feet tall and win 1-0 with a goal off of a gomez clanger... who will only play cos happy harry picks a weakened team.

LFC to see suarez and carroll score hat tricks but 6 goals form sterling on his debut plus 6 assists.... Kenny will say he did "ok"

Feel Arsenal will be beaten by Sunderland as a result of their tattered confidence and mess of a team atm. Think we will look unconvincing, slow and average but will still win 3 nil with goals predominantly from set-pieces/rebounds, can't see our defence conceding, especially at home.

The Arse one is hard to call, but I don't think they can offer as much of a fightback as tehy would need to, and the mackems will want something after the league result.

    Larwo's verdict..home win. Liverpool2: 0 Brighton
    Liverpool v Brighton (1630 GMT)
I am at this game on Sunday and I was also part of the Liverpool team that was beaten in the FA Cup two seasons running by Brighton in the early 1980s.
Albion won 2-1 at Anfield on their way to the final in 1983, and then enjoyed a 2-0 victory at their old Goldstone Ground the following year.
I'm not expecting to see Gus Poyet wear white shoes like Brighton boss Jimmy Melia did at Wembley when his side lost to Manchester United in a replay, and he certainly hasn't got the same hairstyle that Melia did, but I still think Brighton will give a good account of themselves at Anfield.
Poyet's Brighton side shocked Newcastle United in the fourth round
The Seagulls' form has picked up after a mid-season slump and Poyet has got them playing the right way, passing it out from the back. He didn't change his philosophy when they had their bad patch and his players will certainly believe they can beat Liverpool.
Even if they don't, they are a club heading in the right direction. This is their first season back in the Championship and they will be stronger next year.
As for Liverpool, will they will just be glad to be back playing football after what happened at Old Trafford last weekend.
Whatever he was thinking, Luis Suarez should have shaken Patrice Evra's hand before the game, just to diffuse the situation. What he did just added to it and made things worse.
It was all a little bit distasteful in the end, and Liverpool were left in an awkward position.
Suarez should have grasped the mettle on behalf of the club and done the right thing. After the controversy over those t-shirts when he was banned it would have clawed back a lot of respect. You can understand why apologies were made by Liverpool afterwards.
In terms of this game, I think Kenny Dalglish will pick a strong team. He has already got the Carling Cup final coming up at the end of this month, so why not try to get to two cup finals in the same season?
Beasant says: "I finished my playing career at Brighton and they are definitely a club on the up. This should be a close game but I think it is asking a lot for Brighton to win it, especially at Anfield."
    Lawro's prediction: 2-0
