http://notohulltigers.tumblr.com/post/102216489436/get-the-kc-rocking The summer move of City fans from the North East corner (E1 to E3) to the North Stand has, it is widely acknowledged, seen the atmosphere at the KC Stadium improve this season. However there is still more than can be done to make the KC a cauldron of support for the home side and a fearsome ordeal for away sides. City Till We Die would like to work with supporters, supportersâ group and the club to get the KC rocking. The announcement that seats in Block N5, next to the new away fansâ area, will be released to season ticket holders next season offers a great opportunity to create a new singing area. And the existing stands around the ground â including the newly formed singing area in the North Stand led by the âUlltras â can all improve their vocal support of Steve Bruceâs team. We canât make this happen as individuals. We need a collective of supporters to generate ideas (such as singing areas at the back of stands, and co-ordinating singing between stands) that can be considered by the club when they make decisions about ticket allocations in the future. City Till We Die is able to provide a co-ordinating role for this collective, but we need volunteers to work with this group, bringing their ideas and imagination so that we can approach the clubâs administration with some great ideas to get the KC buzzing every home match, from start to finish. Interested in taking part? Then send us an email to [email protected] with a few basic details (your name and mobile contact details, where you live, what stand you sit in, why you think you can contribute to the group) and weâll do the rest to get something started. Hull City has its greatest ever team on the pitch â letâs create the KCâs greatest ever atmosphere in the stands. Letâs get the KC rocking.
I've just deleted my original reply before posting. At least you've eventually had to listen, let's try to get it right this time.
It's certainly a start, if somewhat delayed, but there are still a few fundamentals that CTWD need to take on board rather than what looks like a need to justify the current position. One example is that, at present, it's N4 rather than the Ulltras leading the singing in the north. It makes a difference to how things can be progressed. Another is IF the atmosphere has improved (and my matchday experience is a shadow of what it was), is that anything to do with the evictions, or is it a consequence of a good run last season, Europe, plus new players and some noisier away support? It's possible that the atmosphere could have been better had the move not occurred. It could certainly have been done better. I think the last home game and its dire atmosphere needs to be included in any claims of "widely acknowledged". All in all it's progress, let's get behind it, and be the 12th man. EDIT. I forgot to say, rather than just collect emails, I feel it would be more productive to have the discussion on line, as ideas can be offered and considered by a wider group rather than a committee decision. We need to learn lessons from the evictions to move forward. One obvious mistake was the lack of wider fan involvement. Had that been done then rather than a narrow field of seemingly poor advice, we could be much further on down the line of backing the team. It's the fans making the noise, as well as those wanting to but feeling unable that are the experts here.
I think we hear more about the ulltras going to meetings etc. than we actually hear them at matches . Whan I asked about them before I was told it's a few young kids and we shouldn't expect too much of them . Atmosphere against Southampton was shocking . Is it widely acknowledged to be better this season ?
Noisier away support? The away fans are now in the area where poor acoustics were blamed for the supposedly raucous, vibrant support not being heard. We don't have enough fans wanting to make a noise simple as that. BTW, after the discussion about sitting at Liverpool, noticed on Saturday all the Chelsea fans stood up. So, do clubs only enforce the rules on us or did Chelsea just ignore them? Are we seen as an easy touch because we don't stick together and have too many fans who are happy to see their own fans ejected just as long as they can gaze rapturously at the likes of Stevie G? The lack of atmosphere at the KC has more to it than where fans are located.
Who the **** are we trying to kid here ? Appreciate whats being attempted here, seriously do,so by all means keep trying, but the kind of collective togetherness and real passion some are looking for simply does not exist at City and never really has done. The only time more than one stand or the majority of our lot get behind the team and get the KC truly 'rocking' is when City either score a late winner, play TWS or,like we have all witnessed on a few occasions, stand on the verge of something special like promotion or a shock. Back to reality, should City Go a goal down on the other hand,or play **** for 20 mins, and it's usually tumbleweed time with fans looking at each other, not quite sure what to do or say,for fear of being ridiculed or embarrassed. End of chat.
I didn't go to Anfield this season but, I spoke to a steward there last season and asked him why they were being so heavy handed over people standing, his reply, ''if you're all standing we don't give a ****, you've got fans complaining they can't see so you're all sitting'' - end of chat. We do take a lot of sitters to away games but we don't have the nous to do what every ****er else does and get the sitters to the front and the standers to the rear.
Even better, we could take people away who all stand without it causing problems. Maybe their kids and female fans are a bit hardier than ours. Not to mention some of the male ones. We certainly have more unfit people who apparently can't stand for even a few minutes.
I think a part of the more recent problem is the insistance that things are better, and shouting down of anyone that points at the emperors willy. People that I used to lend a spare pass to don't want to come back after trying it this season as it's such a reduced experience. I know some that will watch and see what others do as far as threads like this are concerned, rather than join in and be rebuked or ignored, which maybe accounts for the lack of response to CTWD asking this, which is a shame. I think we've rarely been a vociferous crowd, but recent events have cost us a lot of older school fans as they feel so detached from the club, and who have been replaced by some (not all) that are liable to be less noisy. I've offered my suggestions on the other thread, where I asked for 'atmosphere' to be out on the CTWD agenda. I'm interested to see what they discussed, as most of the points in the OP are from that other thread.
Tell me about it. Stood in E11 since the stadium opened. Many years before but proud rather than brag. Rarely missed an away game up till last season, told a few clubs including Burnley to **** right off, taking the piss. Events off the pitch are killing City right now, thought those days had maybe taken a backseat, certainly for a while at least. Rumours of another take over now, just when we needed stability to Build even furthered regardless of division. Newbies a joke,Two wins and we are world beaters, two defeats and its a crisis...**** off. Many have walked...****s trick maybe but understandable & already witnessed. Time to reflect.
The problem with that is, we don't have enough of that type of supporter, we NEVER have had - the few that went religiously (I know you're one of them) to the majority of away games ''back in the day'' have either been swallowed up by those wanting the Premiershp experience, or they've been priced out, or are just generally pissed off at how **** modern day football support is. Some of our younger element are trying to restore passionate support, but it's not gonna happen overnight. Safe standing & common sense pricing would help the cause massively, but again, don't hold your breath !
I LOVE it in N4. I allways stand and sing and so do the 2 juniors . N5 should be the area the club give out free tickets to kids at school or at collage . IF they agree to sing and shout and make loads of noise . Liverpool is like more like a bloody library then the KC
i was at legia warsaw v mentalist carbib on Thursday NOW that's a crowd.. all these posts are useless. . will never ever get anywhere remotely near that level or even improve, its not in the culture here, so don't know why you wasted multiple paragraphs on this
So it's those who want to sit down are causing the problems for our own fans then? I said it a couple of weeks ago, we all could just ignore the stewards and don't even reply to them... They'd have a hard time proving we aren't all deaf - they wouldn't want to start discriminating now would they?
Just relaying what the scouse twat said mate - spoke to a guy at Burnley and he said the stewards at Anfield this time round had a field day slinging our fans out who wouldn't sit down, as you rightly say, slung out because our own fans complained about them standing. You couldn't make it up.
So the Ulltras have ****ed it up in N2, largely quiet and ignored, and want to go in N5 now then? The club are having meetings with many fans why are you trying to get their ideas and pushing them as your own. Its not needed. Mooney seems very open to ideas, no need for a middle man.
The only way to ignore the stewards is if everyone does. Unfortunately we have some fans quite happy to see their own fans ejected and word gets round. A woman got someone thrown out at an away last time we were in PL by constantly complaining, an argument broke out, police stepped in and he was ejected. Not charged with anything but our "fans liaison officer" heard about it and asked City to ban him which they did. We have fans there to spectate rather than support, especially at the games against the big clubs.
