Stephen Henderson... He was utter ****e today, N'Diaw was only start who comes off with any credit and Henderson and Orr were at fault for a lot today he really should go back to West Ham Credit to the fans there, was a good atmosphere, although some somewhat ironic cheering and chants were the only thing to put a smile on our faces... Just another day as an Ipswich town fan..
Henderson should be given the "thanks but no thanks" conversation tomorrow morning... So far this season; Loach has conceded 19 goals in 10 league appearences Henderson has conceded 19 goals in 7 league appearences I know what they are playing behind is pretty **** but I really do not see any value in having the guy here anymore
dont see why we signed him and have never seen him do anything well for us. Prefere to see Loach and ALB before him
I thought I read on here (not sure when or who wrote it so I might be imagining it) ...Henderson has a clause in his loan contract stating he has to play. As I've said, I'm not sure if its true but if it isn't...... Why is he playing????
I heard the same thing but not sure how true it is. I was going to wait until this Saturday to see if he is in goal, if he is then I assume he does have it written into the contract because no manager would pick him after his last few performances. Looks like MM has a replacement in mind http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/21917/davis-linked-with-town-return
Rather than a replacement why the hell cant we just play a contracted player. FFS its hardly rocket science is it. We pay another club a transfer fee then pay a player wages to do nothing whilst continuing with short term fixes around them. Give loach a go until the January window, if he makes errors then replace him then. I actually didnt think he deserved to be dropped in the first place. Having said that Davies is a keeper I have always rated so this moan isnt about him personally.
Kelvin Davies is a great keeper but as you say PTC is beggars belief that we are continuing with this strategy..... Unless we are looking to sign Davies in January?
KOPR apparently that is the plan, and I agree I don't believe Loach should have been dropped in the first place.
It has to be said that Davies is a far better organiser of a defence than any of our current options, he certainly isn't afraid to bark out any orders and keep the back line on their toes so for once this goalkeeping loan makes some sense. It does make you wonder what this means for the future of Scott Loach only a few months after joining, hopefully Davies will be here for a year or two and Loach can then make the step up and command the No. 1 shirt for many years to come.
I didn't say anything!! I wasn't overly keen on Loach coming here as I'd heard he wasn't the most dominating of GK's but perhaps at a new club he could fulfil his potential and I was pleased that the club was looking for a long term GK!! What I've seen this season I seen this season apart from the Cardiff game I've been fairly impressed and see no reason why PJ dropped him and got Henderson in, I defended PJ for alot of things but this seemed a desperate act of a desperate man!! I'd see no problem with bringing Davis in if it was a view to a permanent deal but like I said I really can't see why Loach was dropped in the first place!! Davis is more experienced (which is perhaps what we need) and probably one of the best shotstoppers I've seen, although he's not really a commanding GK. If we're going for old GK's I'd go for Alexander, I really rated him!!
Apologies PTC I think I got confused between yourself and Tractor Bhoy, in fairness I agreed with what was written and thought it was from either of you and plumped for the wrong horse (not that I'm calling you a horse ) But I agree we shouldn't have dropped Loach in the first place and that Alexander would be my 1st choice of former keepers to bring back. But I think Davies is a pretty good 'organiser' and always seems very vocal, and for the past 3 seasons he's been in the team of the year in his respective division and I think with his experience and know how he should be a more calming influence behind our erratic and flimsy back 4
