http://m.huffpost.com/uk/entry/7816656 Here's a thought, Wormwood scrubs prison covers an area about 4x that of LR, if the prison sell offs happen I wonder whether we could get in there and use part of the site for a stadium, we could contribute to the infrastructure and there would be plenty of room for housing and on top of that we could commit to building additional low cost housing at the LR site. Would be an ideal spot for us as we wouldn't have to go far.
The hospital could be a problem because of congestion on match day but I'm sure there would be a way round that. I doubt there will be many sites in the area big enough that will become available and with Old Oak looking like a distant dream this would be an ideal spot IMO!
Any more congestion than is the case now? People would presumably just park in roughly the same places at at LR and there could be some car parking as part of a site potentially. Also our rail access has to be the best in the Football League
The problem with congestion would be for the hospital, ie ambulance emergency access, but I'm sure with a bit of traffic management it wouldn't be too much problem.
I'm willing to bet that the prison is listed in some way, and if sold off may end up a hotel catering for the HS2 crowd (if that ever happens). I'd be surprised if you could knock the whole thing down, the facade at least will be protected.
It won't be a hotel if it's sold as the whole idea is to create more housing, I was thinking the way round that for us would be building housing at LR to compensate. The main gates at scrubs and the church inside are listed but the rest could be pulled down.
