http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22656986 And bid for Gary Mackay-Steven... If Celtic miss out on these two, I can see another McCarthy situation.
The young Irishman was only a boy when we missed out. I am not so sure he would have developed in the same way. Russell is different i reckon. It's fairly well known he'd walk to Celtic Park given the chance but i'd hate to see us mugging DU for the two of them. If David Goodwillie was a £2m player.......times change. They won't get that for two better players.
Guess it depends on who managed him... he was almost straight in as a first pick at wigan, so your probabaly right. Agreed, I think £1.5m would get you both players. Would rather see them both at Celtic than lost to the Championship.
It is a difficult one. Those players are going to get sold anyway. If they come to us then we are accused of hoovering up all the best talent to stop any challenge. If the go to England then they are gone from the league altogether. United have to realize these assets fairly quickly. They were offered £250k in January for Russell from the championship allegedly......that is robbery. They'd both be a punt.....but that is the business we are in. Cheerios Gary Hooper, bonjour these two.
