To be fair to Jenkins he's been pretty good with his appointments (make a note Vincent), though this is probably the most critical of the lot. Huge amount at stake with a lot of pressure. There also seems a little unrest among the team (Jonjo in particular) which isn't something we've seen before. No reason why they shouldn't turn it around but not something they've been used to in the last few seasons.
Jenkins record is incredible, BUT past performance does not guarantee future success. This appointment is massive and the competition at the bottom of that league is intense. It's a year where the bar for 4th from bottom could easily be a lot higher than normal too.
Would be quite happy for Curtis to remain as caretaker for the rest of the season. And remote, you're right about unrest (know a little bit about that but can't divulge as it is all rumour at the minute) - something was definitely awry in the last period of Monk's tenure and Shelvey looks to be on his way out tbh!
hey cartoonhead, haven't seen you on these shores for a while. Good to hear from you as always. Hope you had a good festive period. A step in the right direction yesterday. Curtis seems to be taking you back to your roots with some of the old guard coming back. Not a bad short term strategy. You need to see out this season's storm and plan for next year. The important thing is being higher than 18th come the end of he season. Don't think there is anything overly broke. Just not the calm that we're used to down west.
