I know it's been mentioned on the rumours thread, but this topic deserves it's own thread. Gervinho has been left out of our tour party, and that has sparked rumours about him being sold, with Roma reportedly interested in Gerv. For me, we should sell because despite the flashes of brilliance, the guy just drives me insane. The idea of potentially getting rid of him and getting a replacement is a good one, for me. What does everyone else think?
I was/am a fan and believed he would have come good if played regularly. However, that is never going to happen and he should be sold for his own benefit.
Decent squad player. Not going to be good enough to start but is he ever going to start ahead of Pod/Oxo/etc...? Squad depth is key and at times he bailed us out last season. If we can find an improvement sure but I'd say that's not a priority so keep.
Sell, Squad player or no, there are just too many players ahead of him and he is taking up valuable space in the squad.
I don't think Gervinho has the consistency to win the fans over, and if he's as susceptible to dips in confidence as we've been led to believe then I can't see how he can carve a future out at the club. It's a shame, because he obviously has the ability. I'd love him to prove everyone wrong and stay, but I can't see it.
Yes he's still here and yes, he thinks he's any good......he may be on his own there though........... I believe Bruce managed him at Birmingham when he was younger...
He's really really good - a humble, hard-working, reliable bundle of talent and who will put it upon himself to elevate the reputation of Hull City FC both on and off the field. I'd advise paying him double what he asks for to guarantee his signature as he's in serious demand right now. Quick - snap him up... ... please...
I rate Vela, but I just do not think our league and country suits him. In all that time he was here, he never learned to speak English and did not adapt to living in this country, so I just think Spain suits him and he clearly feels a lot more comfortable there.
According to ladyarse, Roma have upped their offer for Gerv, and he's not on the tour because he's "ill"
