And Gervinho has taken the opportunity to criticise the Arsenal boss , insisting he has had to re-build his confidence in Rome. The Ivorian told Sports Illustrated: "The fundamental difference between Roma and Arsenal is the coaching. "My coach here, Rudi Garcia, gives me confidence, because I know he believes in me. When I wake up in the morning, I like coming to work, I look forward to being with these people. "What did I learn at Arsenal? Honestly, not much because you cannot learn much from being on the bench. "I left England because I was not playing. Not enough. The most difficult moment was being on the bench. That was the worst part for me and my confidence." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...-gervinho-blasts-arsene-3125051#ixzz2slE5Kdtk Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook
and why was he on the bench ? coz he was crap. Its a self fulfilling prophesy Gerv , if you play crap you get dropped . The chicken comes before the egg my dear .
Probably shouldn't have been a headless chicken in front of goal here. And its not as if AW didn't give him chances to find his composure.
To be fair to the guy, he was excellent for Lille, and is playing well for Roma, so something obviously just didn't click for him here
yeah but a lot of these guys dont make it in the EPL . Its hard . They have the talent . They havent got the steel .
Not to mention the slow pace of Seria A works to pace abusers like Gervinho's advantage. Gerv wasn't bad but he didn't have the composure to take it to the next level here.
To be fair to Wenger, I don't think he is perfect, but don't think you can question the man's player coaching, he has turned so many normal players into world class stars, turned boys to men, and this is well known. It's just sour grapes from Gervino to blame the coaching, if there's any manager you'd want to help you in improving it would be Wenger. **** off Gervinho.
He had enough chances with us and ballsed them up. I was really excited about the prospect of him and thought he looked like what we needed. A pacey winger/forward who took people on. Problem was that once he'd done that (usually unsuccessfully I might add) he either shanked it, passed to the other team, ran the ball out of play or, my particular favourite, fell over. That was probably a balance issue with his head in fairness. Ah well, he obviously had ability, just not suited to the EPL. Sounds a knob-head slating Arsenal who are a club with a fantastic record at showing faith in players.
I suppose so but when you compare him to other players in our squad maybe he didnt. Bendtner has had FAR more chances than Gervinho yet many fans still back him. Gervinho just lacked composure for us. He constantly beat defenders and got into good positions. In terms of ability he could be TOP class but much like Eboue before him he does'nt have the right mentality for this league.
