Gerry Taggart has replaced Alan Young as BBC Radio Leicester summariser Hopefully there live streams to all the games anyway but not a bad move by any means
Will reserve judgement until I've heard his commentary - don't think he's ever done any kind of punditry.
I'm not going to ring up and say that - I'm quite attached to my teeth and my head staying on my shoulders!
Did anyone listen to the match on RL? The vibe on facebook was that Taggart was awful. Bring back Alan Young!
yep - he was abslutely abysmal and every other word was 'ermmmmmmmmm' and left plenty of silences before stringer came back in as he had nothing to bounce off. Nothing like his partnership with youngy.
Gotta give him a chance to get to youngys quality, i'll tune in after a match that i can actually get tickets for (i only really listen on the way home from the match), should be bedded in by then
But that's the thing, Young was good from day one. I think you have to have the right personally, it's not something you can learn.
Shows how much people were paying attention! The pro-Young brigade probably didn't tune in but still passed judgement!
I wonder how much Stringer had to do with Young's release. Marshall and Taggart are players that would have been childhood heroes for someone Stringer's age, whereas only middle age to older listeners remember Young as a player. To add to the conspiracy, I've noticed Young has been "liking" anti-Stringer facebook posts.
