    Fascinating read.

The Pulis/Francis team is an interesting arrangement, just like what Ramsey/Warnock were trying to achieve, but we couldn't get it to work.

As one of esteemed posters said, it was probably down to the changing expectations that pull the rug from Ramsey.

Gerry Francis' sons turned their backs on football to pursue a career in music... just like Rod Stewart
    • Both Adam and Jake Francis were on the books at QPR
    • But both boys left QPR and football to try and make it in music
    • Adam is the singer in Nirvana-influenced rock band Lost Lady Luck while Jake plays the drums in the band

As a schoolboy player, Gerry Francis remembers a young Brentford trialist called Rod Stewart - before he decided to chuck away his football boots and pick up a microphone.
Now, in a strange case of history repeating itself, it is Gerry’s own sons, Adam and Jake, who have left QPR to try to make it big in a Nirvana-influenced rock band called Lost Lady Luck.
Adam, 22, had a professional contract at Rangers and went on loan to National League side Woking before opting to be a full-time singer.
Younger brother Jake, 18, is the group’s drummer, having also shown promise as a QPR apprentice.

‘I think they could have earned a living out of football but it was getting to the stage where they had games on a Saturday and gigs lined up at The Hippodrome or Cafe de Paris. They couldn’t do both,’ said Gerry, who also has a daughter, Chloe.
‘I felt sorry for them, having to give up one of the things they loved. I didn’t push them either way.’
Instead, Francis Snr is giving his sons his full support by releasing the group’s EP on his own record label, GFL Records.

The former England captain has always had a hand in business and showbiz. He has dealt in property since buying his first house in Hounslow and turning it into two flats.
In addition, he has invested in West End show 125th Street and owns a 10 per cent stake in the hit musical Buddy.
He is good friends with singer John Parr (St Elmo’s Fire) and presented Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant with his England shirt after they played Brazil in Los Angeles in 1976.
‘I wasn’t musically gifted but I was a good singer,’ said Francis.

Rod Stewart could have pursued a career in football having had a trial at Brentford - but he chose music
‘Not that we expected the boys to make a profession out of it. They’d be playing out in the garage, by the swimming pool. I didn’t take too much notice to begin with. I just thought it was something to keep them out of trouble!’
To accompany their latest single, Ten Feet in the Deep, the group have released a video that mimics Robert Palmer’s Addicted to Love in which models pretend to play musical instruments.
The glamorous video, which can be viewed on the band’s website lostladyluck.com, is appropriate as Adam is the reigning Mr London City and Chloe is a fitness model who won the junior bikini award at last year’s world championships in Miami.
