A galaxy far, far away
A break from Suarez, yes.

For the Gerrard XI, pick a team you must.

Remember; feel, don't think.

-----------------------Dudek
--Arbeloa-------Carra-----------Hyypia------Traore
---------------Didi-----------Alonso
---------------------GERRARD
----Garcia-----------Mellor-----------Sterling/Ibe

Subs of say Reina (for a send off), Finnan, Smicer (if he's about), maybe a few current ones - Lucas, Agger, Glen etc and a legend or two (the king?)

- Dudek, Carra, Hyypia, Traore, Garcia selected for 2005 they must be, yes.
- Didi for that and being a general legend.
- To create an Olympiakos volley moment, Mellor must be there.
- Alonso never got a proper send off - plus that penalty.
- An impression of what they could become, Sterling/Ibe could have. Important to their training.

Owen can get stuffed. But what about Igor!!!

Its not who we like, its who Gerrards wants.

Anyway, apparently Riise tweeted that he wasn't in the testimonial match because it was an important preseason friendly for LFC, but he'd be at the game to watch - implying that it'll be the current squad playing only.

Would be a real shame if so.

I knew it was listed as a preseason game but hadn't really thought of it being A preseason game...if you know what I mean <yikes>

So I've got to watch Downing again?? <wah> so we might see Suarez after all <whistle>

That's the implication, but nothing for certain. You'd have thought Riise would be playing and not watching otherwise...

Maybe there'll be a few old faces on the bench for 30mins or so? That's 30mins less of Downing playing

If its just Liverpool's current squad V olympiacos then that ain't no testimonial, especially for Steven Gerrard.

That'd be a right load of bollox

A farce you may go as far as to say!?

I thought Iniesta and others were going to be playing?

That's what Marca said anyway!

Simple maths guys.....

It's been confirmed that no ex-players will be taking part in this testimonial - it's purely a pre-season game <ok>
