Got this from a Liverpool mate, according to Liverpool Daily Post The Reds are probably going to rest Gerrard, Suarez and Skrtel tonigh with the FA-cup semi final derby against Everton in mind. Goalkeeper Pepe Reina is still suspended meaning they come into this game with a much weaker side than the one that surrendered against us. Can't see anything but a Blackburn win in this one, a draw the worst case for Rovers imo.
What was it COLIN said when L'pool rested players v West Ham when he was chief at Sheff U? Whatever it was, the L'pool fans have hated him ever since.
In fairness Liverpool have been better off without Gerrard than with. Even with a full strength team I'd still see Blackburn winning comfortably tbh. Can of worms though definitely. If Suarez and Skrtel are rested Liverpool will definitely not win. Bellamy is their only goal threat now
Does it matter? Their full side is **** anyway. The new players might actually step up and do something.
Can't blame them. Chelsea will hopefully rest a few when we play them or pick up injuries from the number of games they have and City could well be in Magaluf by May.
Look what happened when Everton supposedly named a 'weakened' team against Sunderland at the weekend... looking on the bright side, this makes the Liverpool team completely unpredictable for Steve Kean.
I think Liverpool will win tonight. Pressure is really on Blackburn especially now that most pundits see them as favourites for this game. Liverpool won't want to go into their FA Cup semi without a win in god knows how long and their bit-part players are looking to force their way into the Wembley line-up with a strong showing. We'll still be outside the bottom 3 come kick-off tomorrow and a few points clear come the final whistle.
Fair point though, about Liverpool not wanting to go into the cup final without wins particularly as Everton really took it to Sunderland at the w/e Hope you're right
I'm not so confident about Liverpool's chances of doing us favours tonight. Blackburn looked pretty solid throughout most of their game against Man U last week; and had Pederson's shot not been disallowed following the offside call, could easily have got something out of that game. Not sure what happened against West Brom the other day but Liverpool are certainly no Man U atm. Worrying.
At least it is a short trip and hopefully Liverpool bring as many fans as ManU did (7000). That have to be a big incentive for the Liverpool players to play out of their skin. But it's a worry that Liverpool look to rest so many, it even looks like Raheem Sterling could get his chance tonight.
Liverpool's best XI is so poor right now it would struggle to get anything against a Blackburn team fighting for its life. Throw in a Dominos delivery boy in goal and the best three or four players rested, I see nothing but a home win.
