Gerrard: "Next year is our year"

Steven Gerrard believes Liverpool’s heartbreaking experience will help them win the Barclays Premier League title in the next season.

"This experience is going to take us to the title," Gerrard, 33, told LFC TV. "Whether it is next year or the year after, it will happen pretty soon.
"I've only got a couple of years left but I still believe I can get there."

"I'm really confident and believe the title is not too far away."

I'm not sure failure is an apt word, we failed to gain silverware but we still challenged for all trophies available bar maybe the FA Cup.

 

Sound drogs, and we went from 7th to 2nd and were still in with a shout until the final day, failure is a less "apt word" when comparing both clubs previous finishing position, spending and managerial experience at the helm.

 

Liverpool definitely didn't fail. Progression is not failure, and both Liverpool and Chelsea have progressed.

Jocky's talking through his arse, he played for us in an era when first was first and anything else was "failure" but nowadays clubs get rewarded extremely well by the premier league and uefa for finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, in fact Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea's "failure" earned them the chance to win the CL the following season.
