As a Welshman, I have to admit that the second half performance by England was the best I have seen them play for several years.

for sure, it was an awesome performance, if they can recrete that tempo and flow in the Euro's they will be a real handful. My only fear is that come the Euro's Woy will revert to the likes of Rooney, Carrick and Co over what was on show tonight.

Still have big question marks over Lallana and Cahill at this level though.

England for me have been second rate for years.
Tonight that second half was a joy to watch.
I would ditch the old guard that have been failures year after year.
Tonight i saw hope,i saw a young team that performed against the best in the world.
Well done Roy and the lads.

Henderson is old guard and useless.. while Hodgson is in charge we won't win anything..

Funny, but I've never been a fan of Rooney or Carrick, i know lots do, but just my opinion I think they are so over rated...Pros and such like calling them WORLD class! Wouldn't get in my top 100.
Looked quite balanced tonight with a bit of hunger and closing down well most of the time.....Thought Germany looked poor as they always do before a tournament...I've always said, never rule out the Germans.
Goals taken well tonight, should have had 4 at least although Germany should have been 2 up at half time after a poor offside decision..

All in all, with the younger players, we look better!

Cracking 2nd half though - and Alli looked the business even though only 19!!

It was nice to see 11, young quick hungry players, proud to wear the 3 Lions, and always looking to go FORWARD with the ball.

Lets hope its not another one hit wonder game and we revert to the same usual drivel we've been forced to watch for the last 20 odd years eh?

I fear we will, because Hodgson has been forced to play these young kids due to injuries to his useless old guard.. I fear he will resort to type and we will see the spent force faces like Rooney and Carrick etc back in the side as soon as he can manipulate it.

If Rooney never puts an England shirt on ever again it won't bother me!

Speaking to friends in Wales that England will lose the tournement by picking the wrong team. Even though they all rate Rooney it's the fear of playing Vardy and Kane that worries most over here, but know that England will pick players that the press want.

Hodgson should pick players that are in form and i'd say most of those on the pitch last night are..
They turned it around last night where as I didn't think they would........ha ha, one minute before Kane scored, I said to the Mrs, he's not had a sniff and then bang..
What's good about the young players, they don't have fear....just play the game...Alli was immense, that kid has come on leaps since this time last year!

Lot of over the top comments.

England could play short snappy football because they were allowed space to.

Tournament football will be tight and risk averse.

The three goals weren't from 'short snappy football' Are Barcelona 'given' space to play like that or do they make it and take it?

Dier's goal was a set piece.. Vardy was a quality finish from a cross and Kane was a quality finish in a tight penalty box where he turned the German defence to pieces. I personally don't think Rooney was capable of any of those finishes in his current form (without injury)

'Risk averse' ?? Thats just what the vast majority of England fans no longer want to see. I will be in France and if we go out giving it a go with in form, young, hungry players who don't ****in sulk if things aren't 'all about them' then I will be happy enough. if we get the same old, same old. Then I certainly won't.

Must admit, this England side with the Spurs and Leicester players is a breath of fresh air.
Personally I can't wait to see a few more in action against The Netherlands, and as I live in France I am hoping to get to see a few of our matches at Marseille and maybe Nice if we qualify for the quarters. On our current form I would say there is a good chance of that. On our current form I believe only Spain and France could live with us, and Germany, who will be a force once again when the tournament begins.
However, its football so nothing is carved in stone, but this England are full of promise

England's performance was improved due to tempo. A lot of it was short and snappy and playing through the thirds to feet. One, two, three touch versus hanging on to it and slowing the game down.

Risk averse is what teams will be in tournaments. The space will not be there to play through teams as England did v Germany. Space will be denied by getting compact and dropping into lines. At 2-0 Germany would kill a game. In a friendly it did not matter.

    Equals Rooney..

There aren't any friendlies between England and Germany.. Have you ever been to one?

Believe me The Germans did not want to concede 3 goals on their own turf after being 2 -0 up, it very much did matter.

You're right about the tempo being improved though, Rooney is the very worst culprit for slowing it.. The kids trust each other with the ball through midfield.. Alli must start.

I saw England play a German team in 1966and win but today's lot are too wrapped up in themselves to care about their country. When it comes down to the knockout blow England has been lacking for years and talking the talk doesn't cut it for me. Show me the trophy!
