According to the Daily Mail (take it as you will) George Williams is set to return to Mk Dons on loan until the end of the season. please log in to view this image Full story: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Apart from a couple of appearances in recent U21s last games, Georgie hasn't had a look in. If this comes about then an obvious conclusion is that Kit aint going to switch from his 'diamond' plans.
Confirmed "The Club can confirm that George Williams has joined MK Dons on a youth loan for the remainder of the 2014/15 season. The Wales international will be in familiar surroundings in Milton Keynes, having come through the club’s academy before making his first team debut as a 16-year-old. And when he found the net against Nantwich Town in the FA Cup, he became the competition’s youngest ever scorer. This season, Williams has made 16 appearances for the Whites, and he will now assist MK Dons’ promotion charge in Sky Bet League One, with the team currently sitting one point off the automatic promotion places. He could make his debut in Tuesday's away match against Colchester United, subject to Football League clearance." Source: http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2015/february/16/williams-mk-dons-loan
I don't know what to say. We may as well send Roberts out on loan and acknowledge that we have no options for width at all. I don't understand that loan at all and I can only hope Kit has a master plan to prove me (and many others) wrong. I'm not too optimistic right now.
One problem with Kit's approach to selection has been that kids like Roberts, Dembele and Williams have had hardly any football of any description this season. They've been consistently in the match day squad but never used for more than 5-10 minutes. At least George will get some games at MK Dons but I agree that it leaves us even shorter of options. Still all this League One experience our players are getting might come in handy next season!
What ever happened to Boumessca Tue Na Banga ? Seemed to have lightening speed all that was needed was a bit of composure. George Williams seemed to have some good games and bad games, not unlike a lot of the youngsters.
He's committed to the diamond, god knows why. It's been a long time since I've seen us play with any width, going back further than Kit. Jol and Rene were in the habit of players cutting in from the wing. I've sat and watched an empty left flank in the second half for a good few seasons now. Sod's law really that after demanding kit adopts some kind of a system or style of play he opts for a crap one that is easy to play against.
George Williams was subbed after 73mins. in his first game for MK Dons as they beat Colchester 1-0 away tonight. Matt Briggs gave away the corner which led to the Dons goal just before half time. Match report: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30608781
I hold my hands up now and say what the hell is going on? Something doesn't feel right though. Something is going on behind the scenes that we don't know about but I can't put my finger on it. It will all come out in the wash when suddenly we are thrust into a relegation battle.
I was taken aback at the news that Williams was going out on loan, but perhaps this has something to do with the collapse of Ruiz's loan move. With him still here and Kacaniklic back, young George was always likely to get a lot less gametime than he did before Christmas. Perhaps this is simply a case of recognising that he wasn't going to get much first team game time here, so putting him in the place that would be best for his development. The club generally includes recall clauses in loan deals, so we're not cutting him adrift in the event of an injury crisis opening his route back into the first team.
