Does anyone know the exact situation with George Boyd, in his interview he was talking as if hes already our player, what is the fee in place etc?
I keep reading in papers that there was a two year deal agreed for when his contract ended put thats papers and dont know whether to believe it
We paid a £250k loan fee. He's out of contract and we have agreed pre-contract for 2 years starting this summer.
Essentially, when his contract runs out at P'boro, his Hull City one begins. We paid them a loan fee because he was an important player for them so it softened the blow. Wouldn't mind nicking Olejnik or Tomlin either.
I thought it was already a pre-mutual agreement that he came to us on loan, we payed Peterborough X amount and he would automatically join us as the expiration of his contract (end of this Season). That's what I heard anyway.
2 year deal agreed when we paid the loan fee. His deal will begin the minute his Peterborough deal expires.
There chairman said in interviews and on twitter that it was a 7 figure sum, whereas people from out end were saying only 6 figures?
Behind the scenes on Saturday he was more emotional than anyone else. He was in a touching, heartbroken man-hug slumped sitting on the floor with Rosie when we thought we'd blown it and he was literally overwhelmed when TWS scored. He certainly thinks like he's a perm player.
He's looked really promising at times but failed to make an impact in certain other games. He hasn't played enough games for us to properly judge him yet IMO. The one thing I definitely do like is that, like Gedo, he can shoot much better than most of our other forwards.
