We've had a bid rejected, according to the Telegraph. They also claim Forest and Palace have had bids rejected.
Why would we want a winger? I still have it in the back of my mind that SB is trying to change formation again.
I didn't realise that Forest had a bid turned down early in the window, it seems that Reading, Palace and Millwall have all made enquiries this window. He's certainly not an out and out striker, but he can pretty much play any attacking role.
If good players are cheap Id suggest you acquire them and then wonder how you fit them in. Aluko has only got 1 further year come the end of the season and if we dont get promoted he wont stay with us. Indeed this time next year he couldve already signed a pre-contract for the summer or we may have decided to cash in.
I havent much attention to him for a while, but he used to play left wing, I'm sure. But that makes it even stranger. Unless Aluko is out for the rest of the season. Why would we want another Aluko\Koren? Even Brady played well in that position last season.
Boyd would be a brilliant signing if we could pull it off. He is a fantastic player at this level and would slot perfectly into the team in the free role position that Aluko normally occupies. Having said that, an out and out striker has to be our priority at the moment, and I'd rather we invested our money in a decent striker than buy another creative player.
