Georgie boy all day. He played at a time when midfielders and defenders could hit you from behind, two footed, got straight through you and not get booked ... Every game of the season and you had to get on with it. No rolling around clutching your face. Some 18 stone guy with a bucket and a sponge would sprint on and throw some water at you and that was it. Stan Bowels, Frank Worthington, Rodney Marsh and the 'flair players' would get hacked apart. Ronnie boy wouldn't last half a game back then...
Keane, Cantona, Edwards, Charlton, Best, Robson, Scholes, Giggs, Law, Byrne. Plenty players better than Ronaldo at United.
@Matth_2014 will be cross. In his latest video, he says Ron is GOAT* * until proven guilty And what about Sir David Beckham... you forgot Becks FFS!
On a semi-serious point on Beckham... if he looked like Luke Chadwick, would he have had the career he did? A good player no doubt, but I’d guess way behind Giggs, Keane and Scholes for most Yoonited fans.
Beckham was overated...good with a delivery, dead ball but miles behind most of the top mids in his time
Beckham could turn a game on it’s head with one pass. Imo only people who never saw him play live say he was over rated.
Are you suggesting he did a lot of off the ball running and tracking that wasn't caught by the cameras?
Not really. I’m talking about his ability to see space before it opens up, and put the ball into dangerous areas before anyone else has even seen the danger. Of course it helps if you have players like Ryan Giggs waiting to exploit that opening.
Yeah I don't doubt his ability to find his man or the onion bag in a dead ball situation...had a real eye for that. I suppose if youre consistent at that then that's enough to get a starting berth...maybe I just think his wife is a ****
