Aye thats because they dont have anything with the same prestige or interest as the Champions League, which is really what this is about.
FIFA are pissed that UEFA have the tourney everyone wants to watch, if they think this circus will rival it, they have a long way to go.....

They do but this will be in the calendar now forever and over time it will be taken more seriously everywhere. It’s inevitable.

Aye when the European Cup (The CLs precursor) came out in 1955 I think it was, the English football league wouldnt allow Chelsea to take part in it as league champions because they were like "WTF is this ****.....pfft" and now its the biggest cup in club football.
They also tried to stop Man United taking part the year after, but United at least had the balls to tell the EFL to go **** themselves and did it anyway

Total ****ing madness innit. When they announced it I was like "Nah, surely that wont be allowed!" but the PL are fine with it.
UEFA not so much, they fined us for it

England concede a penalty within 2 mins, but VAR check and ref to monitor says no.
