I can give you objective data that shows that in 22-23, we had 92% more games missed to injury than the team who finished top and then in 23-24 we had 50% more games missed than the team who finished top. And this season we had 85% more games missed than the team who finished top. So for whichever season you're talking about by 'season before last' my data suggests you're wrong. However, it sounds you're sure of your own conclusions and that it's well known and 'famous' so if you could provide your sources I'm up for reading them.

Who missed those games though?
Is that taken into account. If it was a couple of 20 year olds who were never getting anywhere near your starting XI anyway then what difference does it make?
This season, of course, you had Saka missing for large periods, and Odegaard etc, important players.
But do these "stats" you quote take into acccount WHO is missing and not just how many?
Like if Quansah is out for a season, then Liverpool probably wont give a ****, but if Salah misses a season thats a huge hit. They are both in the senior squad but one means a heck of a lot more than the other.

Well, yes, it doesn't take into account who misses those games so there will always be a degree of variability about importance of player missing.

However, it is still true that in every single season since the premier injury reports were released, the top 2 or 3 have always been in order of fewest to most injuries. With no anomalies. You can argue variability with player importance and correlation vs causation etc. But that can't be coincidence.

City this year, for example, had slightly fewer games than Arsenal missed through injury but a big chunk of theirs (about 20%) were Rodri so you could argue that their injury situation was at least as bad as Arsenal's. So this year I doubt Arsenal and City difference was statistically significant.

Argue against it then. Find me a premier league winning team in history who had more games missed from injury in the first team squad than the team they were battling against.

You can say it's crying and whining all you want. What you can't do is find any data to dispute it.

What you're saying could be true I (maybe we) don't care, stats are boring I watch football to enjoy the game not to analyse every part of it.

All this analysis has allowed this sort of ****e to happen.

You can't blame the bellend in front of the camera for being in the media. You need to start blaming the bellends who repeatedly watch their clips and, worse still, share them. Re-watching, hovering over for more than a second, or sharing a clip significantly contributes to the engagement score of that post/video and will make their clips get picked up by arse-munchers like Sky.

I constantly share Goldbridge in my football whatsapp group cos he's inadvertently funny and a bit of a dong. But a bit of me dies on the inside that i know I'm one of the small reasons that that trout is now more mainstream and gets on talksport.

Arsenal have that Ty guy, the angry little midget decked in Arsenal trackies and constantly wearing headphones, who basically has the IQ of Forrest Gump, yet Arsenal fan TV still keep him on so people can take the piss out of him and get them clicks.
Its actually quite sad, the guy is blatantly on some kind of spectrum.
