City had a 5-6 year period of free spending without restriction so it's not really a fair comparison. How are Toon and Villa doing in comparison to those first few years under the Sheikh.

If the rules had come in in 2008 City wouldn't be where they are now.

... and Brian and the Red Mancs would have nothing much to moan about .. <laugh>

Isn't it because the rules were brought in after (and as a direct response to) City?

City already had a few years of CL money and had won a league title by the time the rules came in so got in just before the door was shut.

A club couldn't do what City did in the 5/6 years between being bought and the rules coming in these days. The rules were made exactly to prevent another City happening as the historically big clubs didn't like it.

Pretty sure David Gill was one of the big drivers of the original UEFA rules wasn't he?

If only Gillingham had finished off the job properly...

I know a Gillingham fan who is still fuming about that to this day due to too much stoppage time being played or something.

We're home free soft lad ... counter sueing both the PL and EPL with the top lawyer honcho for breaches of their own due processes and protocols . . not been caught with our hands in the till diddling receipts and expenses like your grubby little making up the numbers club ... wouldn't be surprised if you end up in the National League <laugh>

let’s see how that goes.
Just hope it doesn’t take focus away from the top spot.

This is why I always laugh when Sucky thinks I'm a City fan, at least @Saf gets the bantz. Being Tory or a City fan makes this forum tick, imagine how boring it would be otherwise.

Squeeze it mate ... and just hope it's not your brain being rejected by your immune system...

Everton’s £20m will mean more. In fact it’s reported that Forest and Leicester losses were larger.
so unsure how taking the PL and EFL to court will work, every counter case doesn’t result in a win

I know you and saf are alike a double ended wind up team, I'm proud to offer the opposition also.
To quote the late bernie mac
I aint scared of you muthafukahs<laugh>

Most Gillingham fans feel that way, but 2-0 up with 3 mins to go turned into 8 minutes, and we bottled it, not much else to say really, regardless of whether it should have been 5 mins or not imho.
That game gets the sky treatment at least once a year. Old Wembley, Nicky Weaver in the shootout.

wonder who sucky would be moaning about if City never went up, another club, maybe Liverpool would have been snapped up by Shinawatra then Mansour.
