This is what happens when small teams prematurely jump the queue and get into finals they have no businesses being in.

Lolz

Newcastle emulating Liverpool in the LC, thinking they could win without scoring from open play….

Imagine losing, going up and then being kissed by that bloke with blonde hair

**** trophy, didn't want it anyway.

On a more serious note. We started well and looked good for all of about 20 minutes and then Man Utd came through in force. As is often the way it was just before their opening goal that I thought we were most likely to score and then once they went 1-0 up it was all about game management. They inevitably went 2-0 up (they were the better team for 20+ minutes after their first goal up until half time). Second half we just needed to find a way to put it into the back of the net and couldn't, it's a problem we've had since Christmas - look fancy going forward but flatter to decieve and actually don't shoot at any point (hence although we had 60%+ possession and probably about as many shots as Man Utd we had like 1 on target all game - I'm sure they had many more).

Ultimately, although a goal at any point in the second half for us would have made a game of it we didn't ever do enough to actually deserve one. Even if we had Man Utd had slipped down into 3rd/ 2nd gear and were waiting to see what we could do before reacting. They never had to. Cannot argue with the result in any way.

As an aside, Schar should have been subbed off when he went down after 15-20 mins. It's archaic we're still leaving stuff like that up to managers/ players and pressurising the medical teams in any way. They go down with a head injury and any possibility of concussion then they're off for the game - it's only a game of football.
