I'm not a big watcher of basketball (or B-Ball as the kids call it) but I'm going to watch the game at 7 tonight on BBC3 out of curiosity.

Though I'm not up to date with the sport, I know that USA will be staggering favourites for this but what would be a respectable result for us in terms of margins?

Are any of the Newcastle Eagles team representing GB? I know we've got a good team.

    Who else is watching tonight?

I am off to see GB versus Russia at the Olympics... I know less than Manuel from Fawlty Towers on the subject, and I'm too lazy to pick up a book about it. The gf said she liked it though, but that was before I'd properly introduced her to the greatest sport on earth...

And after I took her to the cricket, I took her to the Newcastle vs Arsenal 4-4!

Guess I should give it a watch!

Depends if it's the army teams playing... They'd spend most of the match shooting at us!

I know that but what would be an 'okay result'? 50-0 loss?

I think if we can injure all their first team players, that'd mean they'd find it (very very very) slightly more difficult to waltz to gold again, so that might be an ok result...

Probably getting as close as we can get, otherwise. GB do have some good players now, including NBA stars (apparently, I know nothing, remember).

Only less successful and less well known in Europe as a sporting entity...

But actually I've never seen us play, so I'm assuming us getting beat so often means we have a game more akin to traditional English gents playing crochet... But then again, Millwall aren't doing that well are they? <laugh>

You know what, **** it! I'm going to enter this competition with unrealistically high expectations and if we don't win by 100 baskets or more I'll boycoutt the sport forever!

    ...until the Olympics.

15-12 them at the minute, think they will win by 30.

Deng-chap, who I'm told is our best player, certainly looks a cut above some of the others... The Americans don't miss a shot, yet our lads cut inside the triangle dee thing (see what I mean about my knowledge? <laugh>) and miss from five yards...

Why are they all so sweaty? Tiote could do this all day

The physical 'clashes' are comparable to those in rugby according to the commentators. <doh>
