http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21319104 Sad to see such a great footballer end up like this. Although not one of my all time greats,he was still a fantastic player. Never really used his great talent to its extreme. Best of look Gazza
Gazza is blessed and cursed in equal measure just as many geniouses are unfortunately! I really hope that he beats his demons but I fear we will be reading about his untimely death within a few years!
Needs help, hope the pfa or appropriate organisation steps up and actually gets him the help he needs. Absolute legend, one of the true greats but has been surrounded by arseholes his whole life.
As sad and as harsh as it sounds, I think he has had more than enough help from others over the years and things are only going to start looking better for him when he actually starts at least trying to help himself.
i think this is a reasonable comment munky it's really sad, the guy used to put a smile on your face and he was also a brilliant footballer
Been for a work conference in the hotel where that happened at, I know the event was for charity but that area's a dive, with the exception of the poor people who have to work nearby or those staying at the hotel the only other reason people are in that area is to pick up prostitutes or score crack. It's sad whats happened to Gazza I've heard from Geordies that his spotted occasionally propping up the bar in some pub, for every couple of fans wanting to talk about football and genuinely be amicable there will be a twat ready to ply him with drinks and record it on their Iphone, every video I've seen of him pissed you get the feeling people are deliberately tormenting him taking piss etc.
paul gascoigne is still the best british footballer i've seen in the flesh. i suspect he will not be surpassed on that front for some time to come. i think warky sums it up well: "blessed and cursed in equal measure"
The degree of psychiatric disorder that Gazza continues to experience is pretty severe: People often forget that mental health issues are difficult to overcome and very difficult to treat effectively. The outcome for many problems including bipolar disorder is that asymptomatic status is often not achieved for the majority of people. When you lay on top of these other problems, it becomes incredibly difficult for an individual not to relapse, and especially in difficult and constantly pressured situations.
