I am sure the site hosts will not mind me mentioning this. Massive respect to 606er "gazboy" aka Gary Mc. Running in this event today and raising money for a charity set up by my wife and her friends after her best friend was cruelly taken from us far too early last year. The Highland Fling is a 53 mile trail race which takes place every year in April. The route follows the West Highland Way, Scotland’s oldest official long distance footpath, through the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Our aim is to put on an event which will allow as many runners as possible to experience Scotland’s beautiful scenery and also the camaraderie that exists within the Scottish ultrarunning community. Gaz started today at 06:04:39, thats before I got up for golf, and finished at 18:08:50. 53 miles is further than I like to travel in a car let alone run on a highland trail that goes across all sorts of terrain. I have the hugest amount of respect for Gaz for doing this and cannot thank him enough for doing it for our charity. If any of you have won a few quid from my tips in the last few months and feel like you would like to acknowledge gazboys heroic effort then here is a link to our Virgin Money Giving page. http://m.virginmoneygiving.com/mt/u...omeoneSpecialPage.action?pageUrl=AllAboutAlie Our charity website if any of you would like to check out what we have been up to is www.aaa.uk.com Thanks again Gaz, I bumped up my donation after 'Arry won ;-)
Thanks. Was my pleasure as I was "running" anyway. Wiped almost 1.5hrs off my time last year so well chuffed. Drinking lager now and learning how to walk. Great cause keep the donations coming, cures aint cheap!
