Gay Football Team Idea

    A Gay Senior League Football Team

    I am not gay, but am not homophobic.

    We in the modern age decide that it would be a good ideas to have gay people coming out in football. We all know there are many gay football players but they just do not want to come out. So take the example of Scotland where catholic football teams were formed to give catholics teams to play in when senior teams discriminated against Irish catholics in Scotland. The Irish catholics were then able to use football to express their identity, and culture. The Irish Catholic teams could also be place where Irish Catholics could feel safe play for senior team and feel free to revel in their own identity.

    But my idea is that we can do the same with gay people.

    Location;

    The team could be set in Edinburgh and play in the Scottish Lowland League. Or we could have the team in the English non league based in the Manchester Gay Village,.

    The team name ;

    Edinburgh LGBT

    Or if based in Manchester

    Manchester Gay Village

    Here are some details about the team.

    The team play in a rainbow home kit to express the colours of the LGBT movement. Plus they could have a pink away top which is traditionally a colour associated with gay men.

    The team stadium could be built from the finances of wealthy gay millionaires wanting to fund a gay team.

    The Players;

    Gay people and non gay people would be tolerated in the team.

    The Fans;

    Fan Clubs across the world supporting the team. Supporters from all spectrums of society but concentrating on gay people as the main fan base.

    The finances of the team;

    Funded by gay millionaires who want to express their culture in the club.

    Merchandise;

    The Scotch are notoriously friendly hosts and wouldn't have discriminated against anyone, let along the folks fleeing famine.

    The Irish removed themselves from Scotch society as they are horrid bogtrotting bigots.

    Why do they have to bring their sexuality into it just have a team with some poofs join a regular league.
    They mention that being gay isn't even important to joining the 11 so they are bound to have a few good hetro ringers lined up.
