“I want to finish my career at Rangers it’s the only club for me and…eh, what’s that…Sion? Oh, ok then.”
Hun telling lies shocker. they have been doing it for years. and what did you tell him Jock? "Dead" "Dead" "We're ****ing dead"
It meant nothing. Things weren't good on here, we were arguing all the time and we decided just to cool it for a while. I was only on there briefly but while I was there I was thinking of you.
I assume he's some sort of spiritualist? I met one from up your way only a couple of weeks back, they seem to believe that stuff around here. A few months back i faked a picture of a phantom on our staircase and showed it down the pub. There was no "How did you do that?", it was all "What is that? Has anything bad happened in your house?". I couldn't keep a straight face.
I think the guy was for real....although I can't be sure. We were talking about Ballinspittle the other week. I remember at the time family friends pulling out these cards. If you stared at it long enough and then looked into the night sky you could see the Virgin Mary folk buy that **** all the time. I was working up in Belfast last year for a while and I told everyone in the office the chilling tale of someone dying a horrible death at the hands of a jealous lover on that very spot. Every year the spirit of that young girl would come back and seek a soul to take back with her. Everyone got rather jumpy as a chill came over the room...............Just close the ****ing window.
She was from Norn Iron, proddy/unionist judging by her excitement regarding the jubilee. Wonder if there is a proddy/taig split within the spiritualist church? That would be a laugh.
I was invited to the garden party at Stormont today........obviously the person didn't know me very well. The Spiritualist Church is, by definition, Protestant. Although you can be a Catholic Spiritualist......I knew a Nun very well who was one. She slighted me in a major way many years ago. In real life I don't row with folk or argue much but I fell out with this lady fairly publicly. There was much consternation about the way I did it but I don't regret it and after people had the chance to reflect on it, they understood why I did it......All very cryptic I know but it was my only real experience of spiritualists and spiritualism.....it put me off. My sister has more or less lost her faith as a result of it and my ill feeling towards this lady and inability to reconcile with her has led me to question my own. A selfish old **** who acted in the least Christian manner I could think of.
Sounds like a bit of a story there, the mind boggles. I never have "followed" religion, was never brought up with religion. I have early memories of me ma telling religious types at the door to "**** off" in so many words even though/because she was raised Catholic. Despite this, I have been interested in the supernatural/paranormal from an early age. Do Catholics believe in reincarnation, I would have thought not but then maybe some sub-sects do? Presumably they do believe that it is possible for a person on Earth to contact a dead person in the "spirit world". As for protestant - not sure what the definition is (aware I can Google it). Anglican, Presbyterian, Baptist, Mormon, Jehovas Witnesses - guess they all are. Russian/Greek Orthodox? No idea.
Any reformed Church really....Any not Roman Catholic Christian denomination is Protestant. Reincarnation is out, as are mediums and all that jazz. Yet nobody seems that fussed about the inherent contradiction of going to them in "Catholic Ireland". I suppose when the Church is trying to compete against Faeries, Pookies (ghosts), Banshees and Leprechauns they need to let some **** go to keep the crowds up. If they can turn a blind eye to a spot of kiddy fiddling, they shouldn't have much bother in turning a blind eye to someone contacting the spirit world. It is an interesting dynamic to see it. Folk going along to try and get word from their dead relatives to get comfort/closure but then desperately worried in case the priest finds out. Bizarre. Interestingly....or not there is very little doctrinal difference between the orthodox churches and the RC Church. If you went to an orthodox service and then jumped in a time machine and went back two days, you would be in a time that Rangers existed. Go back a further 1300 years and go to a Catholic Service and there would be very little difference between the two
