I originally posted this on the match thread but i think its worth one of its own. Great article but what does everyone think ? Can Ramirez emulate Le Tiss ? http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/...-could-be-new-le-tissier-for-southampton.html
I think it's more likely Puncheon will emulate Le Tiss. They've both already got the "pissing and moaning about Cortese on Twitter" bit down.
If gaston runs more than 5 metres today then we can cross him off the "le tiss successor" list. In all seriousness thought there will never be a player like le tiss again, so it's pointless to compare!
It's true he's one of a kind. The only player we've had close to his finesse thus far is Lambert, but he is still a totally different player
I thought he looked very good, he can't speak English and has only been at the club days. Great movement and and looks to have great awareness and vision. He twice tried to play Lambert in with first time awareness and that's just what we need to alter slow build up play through the middle. We have attacking quick wide options but you can hurt teams more through the middle of the park. He certainly was not afraid to take players on and has loads of confidence to shoot from outside the box. I also like the look of Yoshida. Again he can't speak English yet and has been at the club days. You could see straight away he was trying to get better movement and awareness from fox and Fonte by just pointing and movement of his arms. You could see he was getting frustrated but that means we have a centre back who will organise the back line better as he settles in. I hate negativity, we all knew it is was going to be a tough learning curve this season with a very difficult start to the season, and add to that new young players and new signings, some who have only been at the club days then a little bit of patience is certainly in order.
Yoshida does speak English:
It was a shame that Gaston's first involvement was in a 6.1 loss...welcome to Saints....hope he realises that it can only get better. He watched the ManU game so must have been heartened a bit by that. Likening him to le Tiss is just predictable journalism. Here's hoping that he settles in well, enjoys his time here and scores or sets up lots of goals...starting against Villa (no pressure, then).
Cheers DTGW If Yoshida can speak English, then he will settle and be a bigger influence even quicker. Plus he can help Lee as I feel once match fit we will be seeing a bit more of him as well.
