Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez looks set to leave Italy, with his agent in talks with an unnamed Premier League club.

The 21-year-old Uruguay international is believed to be a target for Liverpool and Tottenham and is currently in England as part of his country's Olympic squad.

There is also interest from Inter Milan as well as Bundesliga club Wolfsburg but agent Pablo Betancur does not believe either will be willing to pay the asking price for his client.

Betancur told calciomercato.com: "Inter like the player but we are very far off from what Bologna are asking for him - nearly €25million (£19.5m).

"I think it's always been more likely that Gaston says goodbye to Italy. So much so that now I'm in London to talk with a Premier League club.

"The Wolfsburg interest? They were the first to move on Ramirez, but some of the figures are impossible for them too.

"I think Ramirez will leave. He is one of the best players and so there are many offers and, again, I think it's unlikely he will remain in Italy."

Ramirez scored eight league goals for Bologna last season as the club finished ninth in Serie A.

    --------------------------------

There was a lot of speculation regarding Gaston and Kenny was certainly interested in the player. Since BR's arrival, the move has stalled/never got going ...

I wonder now if this is all horseshit.

It's easy for us to sit and speculate, especially when we have a want-away Italian we could use as a makeweight.

I'd love it to be true, but I do wonder if any deal would be reliant on Carroll leaving, or Cole/Aquilani being removed from the budget.

I'd rather have GR than Dempsey, and I'm a fan of the Dempsey transfer.

If Ramirez's agent is in London talking to a club, then it can't be either Spurs or Liverpool he's going too, because they're both in USA...

Ramirez is in London for the Olympics so it would be good to see how he performs ...

But spurs are in the running for him ..

The agent is in London for a reason, otherwise he would have travelled to Liverpool. Hence, it's more than likely he's going to a Premier League club, and one that isn't currently in America... i.e. West Ham who are rumoured to pay £18m for a player, which is coincidentally roughly what G.Ramirez would cost.

He doesn't really fit the Spurs mould for pacey wingers.

Who knows. His agent has a reputation for being an arsehole.

i think we were ruled out earlier in the summer.

a lot of Italians are agitating using English clubs lately. I will wait and see but i am fairly confident its not us.

I bet its chelsea cos they need to fill up with another 6 wingers to sate RA's demands... never mind building a team just buy buy buy

yup... italian clubs are broke and the evidence is all over the place. thats my opinion anyway... no english club should be worried about them cos they will not pay 150k or 200k per week.

oh and rameriez to west ham... thats a giggle....

Ramirez just blasted an incredibly inch perfect free kick in at the Olympics. If your not watching, check out some high lights on the BBC later.

Suarez is getting a lot of taunts from the crowd.

Remember, the Spuds do have a new manager. Who knows what his policy on wingers is?

Are interest in Ramirez ended when Kenny and Comolli left.

Were after Allen, Dempsey and Lewis Holtby and probably one more unless Skrtel leaves (he has offers from Anzi, City (who have told his agent they will give him at LEAST £100,000 pw) and Fiorentina. ) They will use these offers as leverage during his upcoming contract talks and if we don't match them he will ask to leave probably but cite its because "he wants to win the best trophies).

Rodgers has also let it be known "off the record" that Aqua has no future and they want to get rid, he was gutted to lose Maxi and couldn't believe Johnson is on the amount he is on given he is a RB. he seems to like giving these "off the record" reports after proper press conferences and then gives the green light further down the road when the Journo's can print it. Did it with Carroll.

So we will probably see stuff in the media in the next few weeks about Aqua not being wanted at Liverpool.

Lets wait and see if it happens.
