Meh I don't really believe things like this until it's confirmed on the LFC website. Can't say I've seen much of this lad so I can't really comment. He any good?
From what Ive seen v good player, tall left footed playmaker, usually plays 2nd striker or wide, a bit of a left footed " Kaka", would cost about £18m I reckon, also Uruguayan, think hes 21yo Apparently has same agent as Coates
We've been linked with him for over a year now and have deffo been scouting him in the past. Surprised we went for Adam instead of him over the summer though... Would be a useful buy
Agent of Gaston Ramirez: "I can tell you with certainty that there are negotiations ongoing in Buenos Aires with a major English side which is ready to buy both the 70 per cent owned by Bologna and the 30 per cent of Penarol. "There are other clubs interested, like Juventus, but the only concrete offer comes from England and I will soon bring it to Bologna. "Will Ramirez leave next summer? Given the amount of clubs interested, I would say yes."
Joe Cole ‏ @JoeColeGMF Close Manchester United and Liverpool target Gaston Ramirez is in negotiations over a potential move to a 'major'...
Because Jay Spearing is really top 4 quality? And buying British has helped this year? I'm a huge Liverpool fan. But this old age mentality is doing my head in; We have not had a decent player come through our youth team since Gerrard and Owen. Fact! And buying British is no different than buying abroad! We also need to be more ruthless with our youth talent. Sterling should be played much more yes; however Spearing, Flanagan etc should not play at all. (Spearing would look the part if he was 5 years younger). Sell him too Aston Villa now! . If we have scouted this player for so long we should know him inside out. If the intention is to use him in the first team; then I am interested! However it is too hard to tell! All I know is we waste our youth talent! We fail to filter out the dross and each player comes though the ranks at a much to old an age! Where are the 17 year old wonderkids? Rotting in the academy; we will see them when they are 23 but by then it will be much too late! (players loose there legs at 28 these days).
Just an example . I didn't mean to have a go. I was just issuing concerns about the potential plans towards the signing of this player. Sorry if I sounded a little degrading.
Erm Kelly? He's the man. Spearing is cover. Our academy has only just been rebuilt after Gerard smashed it apart. Patience.
Sorry, but isn't that how Man Utd have managed to have a good deep squad over the years, keeping players that are not top notch but love the club having come through the youth ranks? they then sell them on before the value drops.
comolli has to get his finger out and find a good attacking mid-fielder with an eye for goal and a striker who can get 15 to 20 goals a season. don't care where they come from as long as they can do the buisness. seems like we are targeting south americans tho
He's a attacking midfielder that actually gets into the box, isnt that one of the things we are missing?? Could be a good buy, if we can get him (alot of clubs interested) Also seems to me that Uruguay are the current rising team in the world, cause of players like Suarez, Cavani etc. Cant be bad if we were to build up a Uruguay theme to our team, esp if they're current internationals.
