It really is none of our business but I love the way the "gasheads" slip their bad news out and nobody takes any notice, when City made their announcement it made banner headlines and every dog and his dick did nothing but knock our club for it.

So Bristol Rovers Football Club made an overall operating loss of £3.4 million, they rent their stadium so have no assests, over £2m has been wasted on re-development of the minimal (even though it's not their stadium,I don't get that one),relegation, paying to high a wage bill but they were let down by their players lack of resolve and fight, employing 6 men to manage the team affairs in just over 13 months,on the positive side they say," This shows our ambitions which, allied to new stadium, shows where the board wants to take this club,The board is committed to the security of the club and continues to support it by financing the losses with loans until we reach the stability a new stadium will bring".

These are just the salient points of the article which was conveniently slipped out on the back pages of the Evening Post under the "gasheads" section.

What a bunch of losers their board is,it's everybodies fault except their own, fans for not attending and spending, players for not having any resolve and fight, men in charge of team affairs, all 6 of them for failure and ground development on a stadium they don't even own but rent, what a bunch of tossers...

Thankgod I support Bristol City, even with it's faults...

Massive, there are others that have had indigestion but it just proves what a super guy Steve Lansdown is and how lucky we are to have him,he cancels the debt, not make loans to profit from them.

As wize says our debt is owed to Lansdown, I take it the 3 mil rovers owe is owed to the bank?

Wiz, you are frequently wrong, but this time you are extraordinarily wrong.

Now go back and read the EP article a couple more times and see if you understand it.

No National - it's in the form of 'loans' owed to the directors - the same way that your club's losses are funded. £2.1 million of the £3 million has been written off.

It's not great, but unfortunately that's the way most football clubs are run these days.

* We invested heavily in terms of wage costs in the players and were badly let down by their lack of fight and resolve in many cases...
* Overall club losses have risen to more than £3.4 million.
* Although that figure includes costs of £2.1 million built up in recent years for the proposed redevelopment of the Memorial Stadium.
* We suffered our second relegation to League Two under difficult circumstances.
* Trollope,Penney,Patterson,Campbell,Buckle,McGhee,oh and North 6+ managers in 13 months.(I took the liberty of adding North)
* The board is committed to the security of the club and continues to support it by financing the losses with loans.
* This shows our ambitions which, allied to new stadium, shows where the board wants to take this club.

All facts reported in the post and listed by me..

Errm, I think you'll agree that there's a great deal of difference between the above and the following:

And what's all this crap about 'slipped out'. The club can only issue a press release with the information - it can't force the EP to put it on the front page or publish a full-colour special supplement.

I smell a whiff of desperation and it's coming from Wiz........

Continued.....

* This last season has been one of great disappointment on the pitch.
* Bristol Rovers made operating losses of almost £2 million last season.
* Costs of £2.1 million built up in recent years for the proposed redevelopment of the Memorial Stadium.
* Those costs are now being written off with the scheme having been shelved.
* Despite the valiant attempts of Stuart Campbell in his caretaker role, we were unsuccessful in halting the slump.
* Paul Buckle, who was sacked by the club early this month after a disastrous run of results which plunged them into another relegation battle.

Six more facts from the report about the decisions of your board....

Absolutely no problem with you reporting the facts, Wiz, however, your first attempt was nothing of the sort. <ok>

such a funny thread and a poor attempt as a wum.

is this true wiz?? naughty naughty wiz. your using this out of context. the evil post said....

"I believe that the calibre of this long-term appointment [REGARDING MCGHEES APPOINTMENT] shows our ambitions which, allied to new stadium, show where the board wants to take this club," adds Higgs.

nice try wiz <laugh>

anyway, what is actually wrong with our debt? its not like £12million is it? i mean our debt has been planned for if you read that evil post link again. we have an overall debt of £3.4million, our board paid for the redelopement project of the mem out of their own pocket. that debt [£2,189,689] has been writen off due to the new uwe stadium which we plan to be in by 2014. the new stadium will make us debt free by the way. that leaves us with a net operating loss for the year of £1,939,141 which is in line with the boards objectives and budgetted for.

quotes to confirm this....

*Overall club losses have risen to more than £3.4 million.

*The result of this new project [UWE STADIUM] is that we have to write off our investment in the previous stalled project at our existing site to the value of £2,189,689, which has been financed by the directors.

*This relegation was hard to take. As a board, we invested heavily in terms of wage costs in the players and were badly let down by their lack of fight and resolve in many cases. These costs have led to an underlying net operating loss for the year of £1,939,141 but in line with our objectives set last year.

*The board is committed to the security of the club and continues to support it by financing the losses with loans until we reach the stability a new stadium will bring [MAKING US DEBT FREE]

i am happy with this. the fact the debt is covered and we can still bring in mcghee as well speaks volumes in itself. happy days :)

this report is up to june 2011. since then we have had 21 playing staff join, buckle come and go, north and other non playing staff and now mcghee. next years report shall be interesting!

C'mon cjs, read the above, written in the middle of my text......

sa·li·ent/ˈsālyənt/
Adjective:
Most noticeable or important: "the salient points of the case".

I put the link for the whole article at the bottom for everyone to read and form an opinion, the only people pm'ing me and not very happy are "gasheads" I wonder why..?

Your board have indeed made loans to the club to support your debt but they will PROFIT from your debt by charging interest on the loans,Steve Lansdown writes our debt off and suffers the loss himself, head and shoulders over your lot.

Oh we are on the Bristol City board,so this was aimed at Reds not Blues....<laugh><laugh>
