1-0 Victory puts us up to 12th, and a point from play offs. Poor preformance from the gas to be honest, but looked dangerous going forward. Wright actually played well, but didnt have the end results a took a lot of stick on the night. Shame we didnt see Regan and JJ was his usual ****e self. Great goal by Zebra, and assisted by the mighty Matty H Well done gas. The shots up next so 3 points and a decent win will help us on our quest to promotion, and hopefully help boost our G/D to something respectable. Oh and AJ, how do you like them apples?!!! UTG
C'mon Chris, well done on your win,I mean it but the stats tell a different tale.. * Bristol Rovers 38% * Shrewsbury 62% Attempts on target * Bristol Rovers 7 * Shrewsbury 6 Attempts off target * Bristol Rovers 4 * Shrewsbury 6 Corners * Bristol Rovers 4 * Shrewsbury 9 Fouls * Bristol Rovers 7 * Shrewsbury 13 It looks like you were lucky boys and well done... Now shove it up AJ and Jenny....
it sounds as though we played you off the park. we did everything but score. you were very very lucky. but well done, keep on marching, although the shots may be a bit strong for you. fs aj
chris, i disagree on 2 things. i thought we played ok. of course we could play better but it wasnt until injury time that i was ever concerned about conceding. we looked good at the back all game. we easily tamed the shrews i thought. also i thought wright was crap. ok, he was better than wheat we use to see of him but he was still poor. i thought campbell was brilliant in midfield. maybe proved a few wrong that his legs have gone. i doubt he can keep this up all season but knowing campbell, he will do his best and thats all we can ask. harrold didnt get much change from the ref as usual and i was glad he had something to do with the win getting the assist. that would hurt a few on here who supports the shrews. richards is quickly becoming my favourite player at the moment. my only complaint is stanley. gill went off injured vs bradford. hamstring problem. he started tonight but buckle must of known this was a gamble yet he still puts not stanley on the bench to act as cover and learn from this mistake from bradford. i really want to know the truth behind the stanley issue.
No Shrews didnt really trouble us at all CJS, but we didnt play the ball around like we usually do and it was hoof ball for most of the game with odd flashes. I feel if we get the ball on the floor, we will be able to batter a couple of sides this season
sorry but you didnt play us off the park. you had a lot of possession but couldnt do anything with it. the only thing bevan had to do all night is catching practice which didnt go too well as he kept dropping the ball and made a great save at the end of injury time. thats it. nothing else. i was worried before the game about your player ainsworth. he seems to get a lot of assists but i didnt see much from him. we were happy to let you have the ball and do nothing with it. your shooting was poor tonight. i expected a lot better from your side as no doubt you are a good team and you will be up the right end of the table come end of season and your already in good form. but we easily matched you and looked very comfortable at the back. great goal by the way from zebs
we did play that a lot but when you have harrrrold in the side, you should expect this tactic being used. its stupid playing it when kuffour was upfront on his own but with zebs and harrrrold, its a good tactic to have. but we use it too often. when we got the ball down and played proper football tonight, we looked good and looked dangerous. if the final ball was better, we would of scored a few tonight that arsenal would of been happy with. talking of arsenal, if the shrews play arsenal like how they played us, well, record high scoring game in favour for the gunners will be on the cards me thinks.
wiz, those stats mean nothing. bevan only had 1 real save to make. they had plenty of possession but didnt do anything with it. we had the better chances and clear cut chances too. sometimes stats can be deceiving.
Gotta be honest, I think Arsenal are gonna batter the Shrews. But then they would probably batter all of us league 2 teams!
i dont know mate, they look shakey at the back. but with the shrews front line, arsenal will be ok. however their back line against a decent front line like ours, well, i guess we will never know
We had a couple of real good chances, but we dont seem to be able to put them away at the moment. It will come in time no doubt. Bolger at the back is working well and we look steady with him and Virgo. Anthony as a right back only IMO! Decent player, but if he makes a mistake a CB we almost always get punished. If he does it at RB, it doesnt tend to be so bad. Well done Zebra on his goal, hopefully he will kick on from that and gain confidence. That is all that was required according to Buckle, his love child
of course i was just saying, as i was there, those stats can and has deceived those who were not there. we had the clearer chances and best chances. they had only 1 decent chance which was managed by bevan by a great save. thats it really. we defended very well and looked comfortable. obviously the last 5/10 mins or so was squeeky bum time but most clubs with a 1 goal advantage gets that pressure at the end.
