Gasheads, I have heard we are loosing talented youngster dominic thomas whos in our youth team to Liverpool! Hope this isn't true as he could be a great player for our first team in near future
yh definately not sure how much but should be in the region of 750000 to 1mil for young players like him. Him and shaquille hunter are the two players that i know have large interest and maybe our two young brightest talents
This is where the big clubs are morally bankrupt taking promising young talent from smaller clubs before they've had a chance to develop. **** the premier league clubs, they don't give a **** if every club ouside the prem goes bust and dies, greedy ****s. The FA have a duty to protect clubs from this sort of ****
I think there is a minimum which they have to give us, apparently they have to give us at least 750000 for dominic thomas and hes only 16 which isn't bad for a club like us!
this is also on our OS site forum http://www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/105707-rovers-youngster/ which shows a link to a thread on a liverpool fans forum http://www.lfcreds.com/reds/index.php?topic=43783.0 the person who made the thread on the liverpool site mentioned "its all over twitter and reports". that was his 1st post ever on that site and his 2nd post says "its what he has heard". a reply was put back to him that a google search of dominic thomas and liverpool shows only that liverpool thread. i just done the same search on google and it shows just the liverpool thread made from someone who was his 1st post and this thread on this site made from someone who is his 1st post. your not the same person are you welcome by the way
no mate the person on the lfc forum is my mate and i am who he talks about in that thread if you read it correct
cool. as you not been on here before then, fill you in, not all who post on this board are gasheads. we do get a fair few city fans over here with their cheap wind ups, dont take the bait especially watch out for 'redordead' as his wind ups normally turns into grooming . enjoy the site and have fun. maybe try to avoid the general chat section if you are easily offended. so then, do you use other gas forums? how did you hear about this forum? only asking as our numbers are a little low so its nice to hear how people join us. majority of us use to be on the bbc606 site before bbc shut it down. nice have you on board with us
Ill take that into consideration and i found out about it just through a friend who stands in the blackthorn end with me at the memorial stadium! What do you think about this kid anyway as the threads on this lol
good to know that this place is being mentioned on the terraces. as for dominic thomas, before your this thread, i have never heard of him. i dont watch the youth games, dont know anyone who does so i wouldnt know to be honest. only youth players i am aware of is those who get on the bench now and then. powell and hunter had good reports from people on the OS forum. powell has gone and hunter is injured. with this thomas player, i dont even know his position! is he really good then? presume so if pool are after him. if thats the case then give him some game time now and then.
This might help.... http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/youth-team-v-oxford-313088.aspx http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/development-squad-win-328833.aspx
I guess we have to be realistic here, the bigger clubs are always going to be looking at youth players in the lower leagues, I think this has to be looked at as a separate business a way of making money, but thats the key, it has to be worth it for the selling club.
problem is we dont get to see the youth break through. lines was the last player to really do this. when its time to leave the youth set up, either they arent deemed good enough to be in the 1st team squad and get released or they get taken quick like scott sinclair was. powell was suppose to be the next big thing but mcghee released him in the summer. now its looking like hunter will make it into the 1st team when recovers from injury. going by reports from last season, big prem clubs like man city were looking at hunter. be nice if we can hold on to hunter as mcghee seems to like him and seems he may be ready for us. this dominic thomas lad seems a bit of good business if we can get £750k to £1m for him and further add ons as well. i would take it, but thats without any knowledge of the lad. for all i know he could potentionally be worth a lot more. but with a good package in with the deal like 30% sell on fee, if he become a real talent, we may get a good size chunk back as well. seems like a good deal to me.
For that kind of money we should sell anyone we get. Afterall we survive on things like this. If we manage to get a year out of them in the meantime, all the more better
exactly what i was thinking and if we get him on the pitch then the price goes up. we have to rely on youngsters like shaquille hunter and dominic thomas to keep our club going by getting sold for good money
