No disrespect to Gary Monk but Ellis will either go all out for a top guy with a promise of big funds or will sell up. We have had inexperienced managers, Keane, Gus, etc. experienced managers in MoN and Brucie and chancers like PDC and its all went tits up. To me it's **** or bust next season assuming and hoping we retain our premiership status.
Wouldn't leave Swansea and I wouldn't want him either. He would fail miserably anywhere apart from Swansea He inherited a good squad that has constantly improved for a decade and an ingrained philosophy going back 3 mmanagers.
Out of interest mate do you and the fans rate him highly? Must admit I thought he'd fall flat on his face.
I'd say most of us do rate him highly, but one or two think the sun shines out of King Laudrup's arse and won't give Monk any credit at all. For his first season as a manager and having to rebuild and sort out MLs mess, he's been nothing short of outstanding this season.
Laudrup won the trophy though so he'll always be the man down there. I'm reluctant to judge Monk on one season so I'll leave it for now, but I've got to admit he's doing a better job than I thought he would. I think he's done well since having Bony swiped from him mid-season mind.
Poor. Be interesting to see how Monk would manage a EL campaign as well. I read West Ham were sniffing about Mink as well somewhere today.
I wouldn't. We had picked up 32 points from 35 games. We were on the verge of going down ourselves until Monk took over and tbh, since then, we haven't looked back
