Gary Mabbutt is recovering in hospital after emergency bypass surgery on his leg. The 51-year-old was admitted to Kings College Hospital, London with a circulation blockage in his left leg. He had a peripheral artery bypass operation and will remain in hospital for a two-week recovery period. I'm sure we all wish Gary a safe and speedy recovery
We do indeed. Mabbs is a top fella. When you consider that he's been diabetic for most of his life, what he achieved on the football pitch is even more remarkable.
One of football's good guys. Pity he never felt like going into management...but then again he's given loads of good memories as a player. Here's to a full and speedy recovery Gary.
