Right, so the lure of European football is over for Celtic for this year. Does anyone we think that we will - and should, continue with trying to lure Hooper here at the end of the season, or has that one run it's course? The figures quoted in January were artificially high, to try and ward off interest, but do you imagine that he's still on Hughton's radar?
McNally said on twitter that both hooper and Van Wolfswinkle remained targets for the Summer. So I imagine that there will be some contact weather anything comes of it remains to be seen.
I imagine that he'll be on the radar for some other 'bigger' clubs as well. Apparently Spurs were interested in Hooper but I suppose it could depend on what circumstances Spurs find themselves in next term as to who they target..
Hooper will not come here, I am convinced that he will end up somewhere bigger as a squad player as there are some big clubs currently lacking strikers. Regardless, from the Celtic squad I'd rather get Wanyama, Izagurre or Kayal than Hooper.
did anyone watch the game last night? did he have a good game (or in the first leg either). I.e did he perform on the big stage.
Really agree with this. Up front I'm hoping we see finally see Vaughan leave, and Jackson was attracting interest from the championship (supposedly) in January, so I could see him leaving too. His opportunities will be very limited with us too. Incoming I'm hoping we have a striker with a bit of 'wow' factor, which I'm not quite sure Hooper has. Signing Hooper and Mr Amazing would seem unlikely to me. We definitely need competition for Tettey and Johnson, which Kayal would offer, competition for Garrido (Izzaguire) and another quality CB wouldn't hurt. Heck, let's sign all 3 from Celtic, they can be the new Leeds!
