After Scottish Galactico's Celtic accepted a bid from QPR. SPL to the Championship is just about right.

Like I said on the non-transfer rumours thread, a lot of Celtic fans said he wouldn't leave because they are a big club and offer Champions League football...

While it is funny, I don't think it's fair to say Gary Hooper is Championship standard, considering many posters on here (myself included) wanted him to come to us. He must be asking for high wages, which is probably what put us off. He'll be asking for even more to play in the Championship.

Hooper has not agreed personal terms yet. He may yet turn them down

I may be in a minority - but I didn't want him. Waste of money at the rumoured £5m.

No sour grapes. Funny how Celtic fans insisted he wouldn't leave for a lower table PL team. He's actually gone one better and ***could*** be leaving for a Championship team.

As I have maintained all along - I didn't want him.

You know what? I know this is awful to say about another football club and I'd feel for their fans if it was true, but if they carry on like this I really hope DQPR go ****ing bust. Have we as a sport learned NOTHING from Pompey?

No sour grapes at all - I just find it funny that the Celtic fans felt he would never join us, a Premier League side, as we aren't big enough and don't offer UCL football.

Now it looks like he might be going to a team below us. <laugh>

they were also saying it was going to be a cricket score against Cliftonville last night haha! They'll be saying goodbye against Elfsborg anyway and that's the end of their Champions League dream.

It doesn't BCC - that's exactly how I feel - and it's not sour grapes. Listening to Nick Thompson last week, there is one reason, and one reason only we pulled out of the running for him, and that was his wage demands. We will have been watching through all of this, if there was a chance we could have gazumped QPR had Hooper modifed his demands, I'm certain we would have.

So QPR are buying a player that PL clubs are baulking it, in the Championship? How the F*** are they getting away with it. I thought FFP was supposed to be stopping that this year? There is no way the QPR could hide this cost, even behind the parachute payments.

Like you say - nothing has been learned from Pompey's mistakes.

He is and it did. Nick Thompson said he and his agent were talking silly money on wages. No better than Austin imo.

I've been reading stories that Big Nige is cross at Leicester again because he's been told he needs to offload 3 or 4 big earners to comply with the Financial Fair Play business they've brought in.

So I'm scratching my head at how QPR seem far less concerned and able to **** out £5m plus whatever wages Hooper costs, ON TOP OF their already existing cash-vacuum of a squad.

Doubt Redknapp works on the cheap either.

    Mysterious goings on...

Think Redknapp will be going out to get his reputation back to how it was before he left Spurs and I reckon he is out to absolutely tear the Championship apart with that QPR team.

DQPR have a head in the sand mentality. They hope to have offloaded all the expensive deadwood by the end of august.

As for Lesta and old flattop He still has Neil Danns to get rid of. Wellens has had his contract cancelled already.

Guess Vardy and Waghorn are others who can go if anyone wants them.
