I've said it before and I will continue to say it until he goes but Gary Cahill is by far the biggest liability in first team premier league football!!

So out of his depth in most games I will never understand what managers see in him! He had a hand in the fault of most goals going in the last 2 games. Out of position, too slow, mistake prone, poor reactions, giving away penalties and should have been sent off for a kick in the back today. When he really gets intlo trouble like ive seen him in an England shirt he hits the de k like Suarez and takes the dive!

JT and Ivanovic have carried him since the day he arrived. Need a world ass defender as he is the reason for out always leaky defence!

On another note, Cesc needs to be dropped. If he isn't on his game, which seems like a lot he is very very ineffective, as his pass completion percentage is very low and he never tracks back!

Agree Cahill is not world class and he had an absolute nightmare today, but he has been pretty good rest of the year. Terry was also awful today, maybe just too many games in too short a time. Kane showed again that speed can really undo Cahill and Terry and one would hope that will be addressed. Spurs were right on song today, and so they should have been , this was almost an open go for them after an easy week compared to ours. They have improved, no doubt. As for us, we just seem to be in a ditch now. Ramires and Salah are simply not good enough, and Fabregas is off the boil. We might still win things but we are definately short one striker, a quick CD and another creative mid. Both our losses told a similar story, we don't like it up us.

Cahill is a liability, end of. Terry has been mopping up for him too much this season already. As far as I am concerned he is a dead man walking unless he ups his game soon. Zouma must be expecting a chance now.

Ivanovic, Oscar and Willian should be looking over their shoulders as well.

Chelsea's defence is a shambles. We all know this to be true as despite having the benefit of no injuries and consistency of selection, they've only conceded one less league goal than the Keystone Cops, injury ravaged, remodelled United defence. That's got to be a concern for Chelsea fans.

Cant agree Varier its only Cahill who needs some time out but Zouma must be given a chance soon or put Ivan in the middle with JT with Dave & Luis out wide. We all have bad days at the office but at least we wasn't three goals up.<laugh><laugh>

Wierd Before the kick off today Branna, JT and Cahill were all superheroes who got us to the No 1 spot! One match later they've all got to go!

I said yesterday that if this result went pear shaped then I would start to worry.
    That time has come.
Definitely need to shake up something in the transfer window, because they are starting to look a little rusty now.
lol fancy conceding 5 to that Spurs side, who have had trouble scoring all season.

Bright side is we are still top of the league by the skin of our teeth.
Hopefully this will be a wake up call!

You don't read very well then as I stated Ivan and Terry have carried Cahill who I have already stayed time and time again will never be top 4 quality!

Rubbish. Today was a bad day at the office prior to which we had the best defence in the league according to the table.

Take away the Leicester debacle and our defence has been almost as good as Chelsea's this season.

Ivan has been absolutely fantastic all year, one of our best and most consistent. Oscar is not going too well and Willian gets little reward for his effort mainly because of poor control and dreadful passing. Today tiredness had us behind the 8 ball and Spurs were excellent. They worked out that we dont handle teams that get up us especially one with speedy skillful forwards. Poor selection and subs by Jose today, needs to rotate more often and use our bench players better.

Ivanovic is now third on my list of all time favourite chelsea players behind Zola, Drogba and now overtaking Lamps!

I agree he should be CB but he is almost as good as Zabaleta at coming forward

<ok> for your generous summary of the game. I think you've hit the nail on the head in that he needs to rotate more. Having a settled team is good, but Mourinho looks like he is running them into the ground at the moment. Salah and Schurrle have looked poor recently, but they get so little game time, they are inevitably rusty. Not sure who Remy has killed, but he is good enough to play occasionally surely. And thanks Jose for not bringing Drogba on, he has terrorised us in the past.

Maybe it was coming, maybe we had a bad day at the office, time will tell. But we've played half the season and been to both mancs, both Liverpool clubs, both N/E clubs where we struggle, Spurs, Palace and Southampton. Some really really tough away games in there so as a whole, we're doing well.

Spurs had a one of those games yesterday where everything went for them. Brilliant performance and application by them as well so fair play. Defensively we were awful but we won't be that bad every week as shown by the other 19 games.

Lets not get too carried away. City were always going to go on a run and had a much easier xmas run of fixtures than us.

Can't blame the players. Few defences can cope against such an expensive attack, our goalscorers cost nearly £10mill, alone! <whistle>

You shouldn't have to drop Cahill, He should get a 3 match ban for violent conduct for his kick and stamp on Kane. And he should have got a yellow at least for his foul on Rose as he scored the second goal.

Those players shot you to an 8 point lead over City and literally blew the rest of the league away.

In fact playing so well has meant there has not been much rotation, and I think the busy period has taken it's toll. They were not tired but appeared to have lost their edge over the Chrimbo period.

Only a blind man couldn't see that Spurs had us worked out today and then executed their plan brilliantly. Our blokes looked wobbly legged to me, and no doubt too many games have taken their toll on some. Kane was pretty savage on Terry and especially Cahill, but we made it easy for him. A bit of rest and off we go again hopefully. Incidentally Kane is starting to look the real deal and your manager is doing a good job. My Spud son in law hasn't stopped smirking for 2 days !!!!
