So how do we feel about this ??? I'm a long way from convinced he's any good. Sorry, rephrase that, .......he's VERY good. Sure he's OK, but I thought we were after absolutely top quality in our signings from now on ?? Well Alex wants to leave so we are not replacing Alex to get a better player, more out of necessity. At 7 mill for an England international the right side of 30 is great business. He is more than good enough to be a 3rd choice centra back (assuming Terry and Luiz and still no 1 partnership).
Agree. Alex very good player despite this season's howlers, probably better than Cahill. But he's fallen out with AVB. Shame we could have done with Alex v Napoli!
Completely agree with your assessment. May even turn out to be 1st choice, but not there yet in my humble opinion. I know everyone bags Luiz, but I think he's such a talented wholehearted player, I hope he gets the chance to mature into the very good player I think he could be. Shame if Cahills' arrival screws up Luiz' development, because he's definitely" work in progress" right now
