I don't rate the fella but I'm sure Mick knows what he can get out of him if he were to come.

I'm surprised with this, merely because he doesn't seem to be an MM type of player (but then again, neither dose Skuse)
I've always thought highly of him, excellent touch, great on the ball, good vision, and very calm with it.
If he's match fit (big If as he hasnt played much) then i'd chuck him in instead of Skuse, who i still don't rate.

You obviously dont watch many Town games do you Stretchy!

Skuse has been one of if not the most consistantly good performers this season! <ok>

I agree with stretchy that he doesn't seem to fit the mould of a MM type of player, but you never know.

As for Skuse, I would say he is one the best players this year, does a lot of the dirty stuff that goes unnoticed.

Sorry guys but I dont understand what this term "Mick Type Player" actually means!

Is Matt Jarvis a "Mick Type Player" for example?

I must say I didn't like Skuse at first , he was always passing the ball backwards but he has grown on me and I do think he is one of our better players . Owen Garvan ... Yes please , could be just what we need .

Agree with Warky on this, Skuse has been a very good addition to the team. As for Owen G, I was never one of his biggest fans but by all accounts he did knuckle down when he went to Palarse and was getting good reviews from the fans, dropped off the radar recently so a move may well be good for all involved.

Just the type of player we need and never should have left. We need someone between that centre circle and the strikers! Hunt was a terrific addition but we need more than one attacking midfield option. Damien Delaney is now more than holding his own in the top flight just as an example of what a waste of talent Keane's reign really was.

Having watched us a few times Skuse has been good in the majority of matches, but when we play poorly he seems to have a stinker (Derby Away 2nd half example) but maybe the team doesn't perform well when he doesn't as he often seems to be the most likely to make us tick

Very good point, but I challenge anyone who watched us back then to foresee Delaney being at the top table as I doubt anyone would have who had seen us play, Mcauley would be a better example... but that's a whole other debate

probably hard working in the centre of the pitch, is the type of player that is a Mick type of manager. yes the wider players are a bit lazier, but in the centre he tends to go for more rugged type.

But i'm not saying thats a bad thing.

I do like Skuse but the one thing I will criticise him for is that when a shooting chance presents itself to him the last thing he wants to do is shoot.......I think he might have been told that if he scores Mick will pull him off.

I agree that he doesn't really fit the mould of a Mick player particularly as a creative CM, so I can't really see it happening, I'd be happy to see it happen though a proper playmaker who makes the ball do the work. Though it'll be interesting to see if he does come how often Mick would play him.

Skuse does fit the Mick mould and as I've said many times before he is basically Mick McCarthy on the pitch, a very good player who has alot of talent but you just feeling he's too cautious sometimes and therefore is consistent but will likely never reach the potential he has because he's content to just be consistent.

It still shocks me that he's a footballer let alone playing in the PL. Definitely one of the worst players I've seen at Ipswich, he had the opposite of a footballing brain. Tbf after seeing him a few times in the PL, he does look a little more positionally aware than he used to but I think he's helped by Palace dropping quite deep

Original quote was by Rodney Marsh about Malcolm Alison and it was a cup of tea not an orange!
