Every time i see his picks I think they get more and more ridiculous. However great a midfield of hazard mata and sterling would be its not realistically going to work. He could easily have picked Tettey in there, thought he was class!
Not a fan of Garth's, but I think his 'team of the week' is more a pat on the back for those whose performed well, rather than a team he think would actually do well as a unit.
I know what you mean he was all over the place, problem with defensive midfielders it's a very thankless role especially in regards to other midfield roles like playmakers, wingers and attacking midfielders. It's one of the most important positions in the team and ensures the rest of the team functions.
I think massive credit to Hughton yesterday, made some big calls. Leaving out Snodgrass, Howson and Ryan Bennett. Think he called the line up perfectly, been calling for Howson to be dropped as he hasn't hit his potential so far this season and Snodgrass has been off the ball recently too. Playing Turner was pretty brave as well, and credit to Turner as well yesterday. Hughton had a slow start at Birmingham as well as I remember. I wholeheartedly think we will survive this season and can see us finishing 15th. You could make a case for all our players to be in it that team to be fair. Garth Crooks hasn't done his homework though, saying Bassong having tough time after being on end of three big defeats. When he only played in the Chelsea game of the three big defeats. Amazing how BBC give us some recognition and yet still **** it up Watched the extended highlights and Bennett's tackle on Cazorla in the first minute was brilliant. Bassong's block as well late on was fantastic, the pace he shown to get there. Great feeling to get the first win under the belt.
Too many more 'Team of the week' performances and he'll be wearing the crown - as the king (elect) of Spain!
Our new spine of our team should be... Ruddy > Bassong > Tettey > Hoolahan > Holt As long as these 5 players stay fit we will be fine, I'm amazed tettey didnt make GC team tbh.
