Garry Kenneth has responded to John Ward's appointment as Bristol Rovers boss by insisting the club should still be aiming for a play-off place this season.

I want what he's been smoking

To get to the playoffs a team needs roughly an average of one and a half points per game over the season.
    So somewhere around 69 points.

Rovers had 18 points from 24 games. So with 22 games to go, they needed another 51 points. The calculation of the three possibilities followed..........

    W 17 D 0 L5
    W 16 D 3 L3
    W 15 D 6 L1

    After our fantastic run under JW- 20 points from 9 games;

Rovers would now need 31 points from 15 games

The calculation of the three possibilities follows..........

    W 10 D 1 L4
    W 9 D 4 L2
    W 8 D 7 L0

Carry on smoking Garry's magic potion lads. You never know!!!!!!

Agreed but not sure if I want us to get to the Play-Offs to be honest what if we won it not sure this squad would be ready for the next step up just yet.

It's difficult enough to get out of this division. I wouldn't want to worry too much about playing the likes of our red neighbours.
But of course we would have to maintain a miraculous momentum. So it's not really likely this year.

12 points away from southend who are in 7th place. however we are 27 goals away from them so really were 13 points away. not impossible if we do the run we did under trollope when we got into the play offs but in reality unlikely and i stand by the comment i want what hes been smoking <laugh>

so basically another 17 points in our next 8 games then another 17 points in the following 8 games = 34 points in 16 games. so JW just got to do exactly what he is doing.

Good to see positivity surrounding the club players management directors and fans.

We still need to ensure we keep it real and not get ahead of ourselves, I for one want to continue seeing an improvement on the field of play ensure we have L2 footy next year.Still a lot to be done loads of games to be played and points won or lost, just noticed that Barnet picked up a Scottish striker Beattie that was one area that they lacked when they played us so we cannot afford to get complacent.

Enjoy the ride Gasheads but dont believe the hype, if you look at City's board they are all saying that if O Driscoll had joined them at the start of the season they would be pushing for the playoffs its unreal how the fortunes and attitudes have changed since the incoming managers sprinkled there magic dust, remember most of the players for both teams are now playing for there contracts to be renewed.

Lets all breath a collective sigh of relief that some semblance of normality has returned to our club and win lose or draw we look forward to the games rather than the lost souls feeling we have endured up until Ward arrived and secured a few good players JJ,Billy, mildew and Brunt changed the formation home and away played players in there rightful positions getting them to beleive in themselves again.

Oh yeh whilst I wish Mr Calamity Kenneth a recovery so he can resume his career I do not wish to see him return in a Rovers shirt.

He may be a better player under Ward CJ however it appeared in my opinion that Parkes was always clearing up following Kenneths mistakes, also his heading ability hmm mainly skywards. He also loses his cool far to easily for a senior man.

Ok for the bench my other concern is that he has a 3 plus year contract which no doubt sits him as one of the highest earners in the club similar to Clarkson, so we may be forced to play or keep him.

Also since Parkes has returned to CD as captain he has performed extremely well and formed a partnership with Billy Crystal Brown and Smith which I would not wish to see disrupted unless we replace Billy next season with a fresh face.

I wonder what the future holds for Kenneth, Gill, Paterson, Harrold and Clarkson.
I'd like to keep Clarkson and probably Harrold, but I can't see a use for
Kenneth and Gill. Gill did not influence matches and probably will do so
even less after a long lay off. Paterson hasn't been missed, and neither has
    Kenneth.
Perhaps we can bundle them up in a job lot. But any two and get a third free!

I completely forgot about auld jelly legs Paterson and the Gilly monster agree with P49 let them go, possibly keep Harrold dependant on striker position at the end of the season,Clarkson only if he is found the right position to play in and performs up to expected standard, however I think he will go or stay warm the bench and take the money.

Kenneth has too good a contract to leave unless we pay it up which probably wont happen so we are probably stuck with him!
