Garry Kenneth has responded to John Ward's appointment as Bristol Rovers boss by insisting the club should still be aiming for a play-off place this season.

I want what he's been smoking

To get to the playoffs a team needs roughly an average of one and a half points per game over the season.
    So somewhere around 69 points.

Rovers had 18 points from 22 games. So with 24 games to go, they needed another 51 points. The calculation of the possibilities followed..........

    W 17 D 0 L7
    W 16 D 3 L5
    W 15 D 6 L3
    W 14 D 9 L1

    After our fantastic run under JW- 20 points from 9 games;

Rovers would now need 31 points from 15 games

The calculation of the possibilities follows..........

    W 10 D 1 L4
    W 9 D 4 L2
    W 8 D 7 L0

Carry on smoking Garry's magic potion lads. You never know!!!!!

dont think anyone would have thought JW would have had the effect that he has had.

key is to get to 50 points asap. but teams at the bottom still are picking up points. maybe this could be a it of a record of number of points needed to be saved from relegation.

The table's running pretty much to normal at the moment. Even steven games v points is relegation status and 1.5 points per game denotes the play off line. It always looks likely at this time of the season that the points haul may be greater for both cut off points. but normally the law of averages takes over. Of course there are always exceptions to any rule.

JGF trys to make it complicated Rodders most of your board dont understand the maths behind his predictions.

Saph keeps it simple so anyone can understand.

Let's see where we are at the end of February.

First we've got Rotherham - top of the form table for away games - won five out of six.

Then we've got Morecambe - we're top of the current form table - guess who's second!

But if we get decent results in the next couple of matches I will definitely be believing!

In the past six games we've only conceded three goals, and there are goals in this team. So I can't see anyone beating us at the moment.

Totally agree Gastro. I know that each of the past 6 games have seemed to be the acid test for JW's Rovers, but these two really are. Rotherham are a good team and will want to put one over on us after we tucked them up at their place. Morecombe are on a great run, so something's gotta give. I reackon a four point haul from those two will be great, however, the squad will be pretty knackered by the time they have to make the trek up to Morecombe.

You never know, anything's possible for us at the moment!

    ONE FOR RODDERS

Your team can still make 69 points for the play offs!

    Win 12 Draw 2 Lose NONE = 38 points.
I think that probably makes it about as likely as Wales winning the Triple Crown this year!!
