The Daily Star are reporting today that Gareth Bale is to talk to Real about a move this summer for 40 million pounds.Apparently when he signed his contract it had a clause in it that he could talk to certain interested clubs, and Real is one of them.Do you think he will leave this summer?,not interested in Peskie's views
As it's The Star, I wouldn't place a lot of credence in it. For me, it will depend on what Bale himself wants. At the moment he seems happy and settled. Having said that, he will need to be convinced of the clubs' ambition. In short, no I don't believe he will go this summer. Obviously, if we miss out on CL football, that would increase the chances of it happening sooner rather than later.
I don't believe he has a clause in his contract simply because that doesn't sound like Daniel Levy's way of doing things. Of course I may be wrong but that isn't really Levy's style.
Unfortunately none of us truly know what Bale is thinking, so its all guess work and we can only go by the fact: - He recently signed a long term contract - is in the best form of his life - Happy with the team/management/fans So I would be surprised if any clause was added to the contract, as normally these type of clauses are for lower valued players, like BA, or Remy at QPR. I think he will stay this summer, regardless of what happens, but Bale knows everyone is counting on him to fire us to the champions league and I would like to think he still feels we're the right club for him, and as hes a family man with a newborn, I honestly can't see him uprooting his family so soon.
Bad choice of paper for gossip, but at least you can cheer yourself up by looking at the topless honeys while you finish your coffee.
If we sell bale for 40m, I will be questioning DL on transfers yet again. I don't think this will be the case though, unless there is also a top player coming our way. Bale is worth at least 55-60m at the moment. End of.
I said at the start of the season I still think Bale will be here for at least another year or two and I stand by that. He seems really happy with everything and everyone. Fans, players and staff clearly love him and I think he shares similar feelings. Being here, he's being regarded as one of the best in the world too, SOME people may prefer to keep it this way than risk moving abroad and potentially flopping (though I think Bale can get into any teams 1st XI and make an immediate impact) and I hope Gareth falls into that category, at least for the foreseeable future. The fact he's also recently had a daughter, I think that'll be another reason to stay here in England for a bit longer. I highly doubt his partner will want to move abroad yet and I reckon Bale wouldn't want to go out there without his family. For all we know, Alba Violet Bale may have just rubber stamped Bale's stay here for another couple of seasons. Besides, for a club to actually get permission to speak to Bale, they're gonna have to fork out £60m+ in my opinion.
If the clause is to be able to talk to them, then no biggy. If it was that he could sign for them, then that would matter.
Every day a paper is likely to regurgitate this garbage...sick of it already. As someone has pointed out, the best bit about the Daily Star are the tits...the wobbly ones, not the journo's!
Alba Violet Bale? That's her name? you're kidding?! A-V-B. hahahahahahahahahahahahaha Looks like Andre and Gareth's relationship is on another level! He's definitely not leaving now! Next you'll be saying Andre is the Godfather!
I did hear some Spaniard on the radio saying how he would be an asset to La Liga. If that Spaniard is connected to Real Madrid, that should be a couple of million in fines already.
Haha yeah seriously mate, surprised you never heard about it, every media source was banging on about Bale's kid being called "AVB" lol. I think that's why he does the "A" sign after his heart celebration when he's scored.
I knew about the heart and the A obviously, but I never realised the full name was AVB. - that's awesome!! He's not leaving us now. that's a proper bromance.
Posted this on Bill Nich thread, but I guess more appropriate here. Just thought it was one of the more sensible articles I've read recently! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...am-mates-they-help-lift-him-to-greatness.html By John Percy Tottenham forward Gareth Bale isn't carrying his Spurs team-mates, they help lift him to greatness Gareth Bale is the shining jewel of the Premier League and driving Tottenham Hotspur towards a top four place in what appears a personal crusade. So many times this season Bale has inspired Spurs towards three points with a magical swing of his left boot and his price tag is now conservatively estimated at £60 million. He is the man of the moment, a player admired by all the glamour clubs in Europe and securing Champions League football next season is surely the only way Spurs will manage to keep him. But the question of whether Tottenham are a one-man team is disrespectful to the other players and one that Andre Villas-Boas' dressing room would certainly take umbrage with. It would be churlish to try and downplay Bale's achievements in any way this season, such is his vast influence to the team but he would not have the time and space to weave wonders without his supporting cast. Eric Cantona once famously dismissed Didier Deschamps as a "water carrier", the implication being that the midfielder did all the dirty work to enable him to perform miracles with a football. And while the likes of Scott Parker and Lewis Holtby's qualities are without question, they perform the similar role that allows Bale such freedom to wreak havoc on the Premier League. The performances of Moussa Dembele cannot be ignored either, for he has provided crucial protection for Bale in the absence of the injured Sandro. Villas-Boas also deserves credit for constructing a game plan that allows Bale the platform and free role to terrorise at will. The Wales international's magnificent winner against West Ham on Monday night lifted Spurs up into third and Bale is now being mentioned in the same company as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Real Madrid are expected to chance their arm with a bid this summer whatever the outcome of Spurs's top four hopes though chairman Daniel Levy is a notoriously tough negotiator and the prospects of a transfer will be like pushing water uphill. Levy certainly has Bale to thank, for the midfielder's recent performances have eased the scrutiny on the Spurs boardroom. The pressure on Bale to score more goals only increased after Levy's failure to sign Internacional striker Leandro Damiao in January, with Jermain Defoe's injury at West Brom earlier this month only serving to illustrate how badly stocked they are with forwards. Emmanuel Adebayor is arguably the only specialist striker on the books and less said about his input at Upton Park the better. But when Villas-Boas has a player with the brilliance of Bale any potential problem can be overcome. It could have all been so different, too. Three years ago Bale was targeted by Nottingham Forest in an audacious attempt to take him on loan, with Harry Redknapp apparently quite happy to let him go. Bale was not prepared to drop down to the Championship, though, and the move was aborted. Alex McLeish, then at Birmingham City, also considered a £3 million bid for Bale as Redknapp initially struggled to know what to do with him. Now, however, Bale has emerged as the most outstanding player in the land of cash and controversy and is odds on to win the Player of the Year award. But just don't call Spurs a one-man team.
Got a back page to fill at the moment? Write a story about Bale going to some random ultra-rich club. One day it will probably happen and the paper that had the story closest to that time will claim how clever they are. It must be really hard being a sports "journalist"! Having said all that, does anyone know enough about Real to know if they could fit him in? Can he and Ronaldo play in the same team?
It's all part of the usual, not very subtle, tapping up campaign that Real do every time they have a major target. Usually, La Marca does most of their dirty work for them.
