I know people will have varying opinions on homosexuality but to actually attack the guy in the UK in the 21st Century, regardless how strong their views, leave me somewhat dismayed!

I've no idea who the 16 year old lad was, i guess his identity is protected, not that it matters, but how the hell did a kid of such a young age become homophobic and so strong in his views to resort to violence.

I think there is a hell of long way to go in the world, but in the UK i thought we had left this sort of thing in the past.

 

Not only religion though it's more a culture thing, stupid people who just don't like gay people.

 

True the valleys still has a huge problem with small minded people.

 

It’ll never go away entirely. There will always be racism, homophobia etc.

We are without doubt one of the most progressive countries though, overall.

Incorrect my friend, you can like men or women but you're also allowed a sheep. We're quite progressive in some ways.

 

I don't think religion comes into it, it is ignorant thick genetic garbage kids that have followed the cycle for generations..

 

When the Al's are everywhere are they going to chuck bricks at them? Ray Mallon got it right back in the mid 90's when Mayor of Middlesbrough after leaving a senior police role. He said, we know who the **** is in every City so lets stop the problem by sterilisation on them people..

I believe some religions are against homosexuality within the world. Not in this case, but in the world, then religion does come into it.

 

Yes it does in Malaysia and Indonesia.. Not so much in the Philippines and Thailand is a free for all @gingerninja

The sad thing is, these born males see themselves as women, the hormone balance is like 50-50 and they choose to live there life as a woman. Nowt wrong with that in my eyes but religious bodies persecute these people. I would rather take out the religious bodies, they need to be looking up, no way there 5th century ****e will get over the next hurdle..

 

Yeah and these things take time for attitudes to die out etc and there's definitely been progress but it's a slow thing sometimes.

I always think of the fight against against homophobia to be a generation behind the fight against racism.

 

I think you'd find LGBT would face massive problems in Russia and with the Orthodox Church, which is the second largest Christian body in the world, which includes i believe Russia, Serbia, Romania, and Bulgaria, the Catholicosate of Georgia, and the churches of Cyprus, Greece, Poland, Albania, and the Czech Lands and Slovakia and i've not even mentioned Islam yet.

 

You are probably right, less choice for them when they need it..

 

By the way, gender should never be about what's between your legs but what is in your head..

The Eastern European governments will never accept this, they will persecute anyone in that idealism when in fact they probably have twice as many transsexuals than the EU..
