We have nowhere near Evertons contracts, so can't see him coming here and being offered more! Hopefully im wrong but i just don't see it happening.
exactly what we need really - a golden oldie with class to steady and guide the young midfield. Come on....
I keep telling myself this wont happen so i dont grt my hopes up but the story wont go away Still..... It wont happen
Someone like him are exactly what we need, proven experienced Premier League quality midfielder. Very under rated throughout his career. Quite similar to Matty James is some ways and he would only help King, James and Drinkwater push onto the next level I still think its unlikely we will get him
He'd be an incredible signing if true, but can't see us beating Everton to him, the only way we will is if they pull out. However he: a) Had an incredible season there last year. b) Would have very high wage demands and wouldn't be willing to lower them for the likes of Leicester- no sentimental connection. c) Everton are playing in Europe. d) He's far more likely to get into the England squad playing for Everton than Leicester. I think he was unlucky not to get into the squad this year when you consider the age gap between the likes of Gerrard, Lampard (the old guard) and Henderson, Barkley, Wilshere (the young).
He would be a good signing for us as far as I'm concerned ... but just a couple of things ... he is unlikely to feature for England now whoever he plays for ... and secondly, our owners have far more money than Bill Kenwright at Everton ... yes they will be playing Europa league football ... just to add a bit of perspective ...
I would of said a lot will depend on the length of contract on offer although I still fully expect him to sign for everton
They're not up for it by the sounds of it. I can see him going to West Ham or QPR for a ridiculous wage.
This is a good thread and what i want to know is this? Why cant Leicester attract quality older experienced players, i am sure it is not about the money all the time but we have nothing short of an amazing set up, Billionaire owners, and if the plans were executed for the upper teir to increase the capacity at the KP to 45,000 we would sell the F*****g lot. Maybe this is now our time to progress and not just another pipe-dream, we have owners who are not just business men obviously but more important FOOTBALL men, even Top stated that he fell in love and wanted to own Leicester City after the Middlesborough league cup win. Now his dream has come true it seems he wants to make OUR dreams come true too!! COYB!!!!!
I think it is time to wake up and smell the coffee boys ... this is OUR time ... I've been supporting this shower for over 40 years and our club has never been as attractive a proposition as it is now for attracting players ... We shouldn't get ahead of ourselces but at the same time we need to throw-off the shackles that have previously encumbered us through years of mediocrity and 'careful spending' due to ownership wealth constraints etc ... footballers are mercenaries and therein lies the bottom line ... if we offer competitive remuneration packages they will come ... whilst it may seem like a long while ago for some on here, in 1994/95 Blackburn Rovers won the Premier League title - some would say bought - but actually no different to what Man City and Chelsea have done since but on a more dramatic scale ... Alan Shearer turned down a move to Manchester United to join Blackburn (dwell on that for a second - why? - I think you know the answer - nothing to do with club loyalty, history, fan base, chance of European football, effect on his chances for playing for England etc etc - all about the fact that the contract offered would set him up for life irrespective of whether the move brought success in terms of silverware etc in the longer term) ... Exactly the same principles apply now ... and that is why we are becoming more and more attractive ... lucrative contracts, earning potential ... simple as that ...
Obviously, like others have said, i would love this to happen, he impressed at the top of the league last year so could easily do a job at the lower end if he wanted a new challenge. I could clutch at straws to try and find reasons he would want to come here, but realistically, he'll goto the highest bidder.
... which might be us ... we can certainly compete with Everton in terms of finances ... Bill Kenwright has been looking for a potential purchaser for 5 years now because he just doesn't have that kind of money ...the same goes for the Hammers ... Dramas on the other hand ... who knows .. but they already have a large number of 'experienced' players ..
Hey fellas, we was surprised when we got Huddlestone and Livermore to come to us,I bet a lot of you was too, so it's not out of the question for you lads.
