Garcia has tweeted "Tigers fans must be gutted--- Another change at the top and this time one of their own. Has it become a revolving door? What a mess!! and later 'for all asking no one really knows what has gone on Only one side of the story has been told". Well he won't be getting another contract but I would imagine a lot of the players will be pissed off with this and will be dying to say so if they dare. Sonny Bradley has tweeted and so has Liam Cooper, both seem to be on the side of Nick.
As I understand it Nick was someone that the players respected, they're bound to be pissed off and even more so if there's more to it than meet the eye. They need to be careful with what they say, but player reaction would suggest that things are maybe not as cut and dried with what the Allams have said in recent days.
Thing is what do the players know that we don't? There hardly involved in any big meetings, they will always be on the side of the manager.
Tigercitys avatar is quite appropriate given the current situation, hope the lads stay off Twitter as freedom of speech is deemed a sackable offence by our almighty owners it seems
As he's effectively been sacked for lieing about the owners it's nothing to do with free speech. The players would be advised to keep schtum because as they're going to be using Barmby's side of things they're going to be working on the same lies that got Barmby sacked in the first place. If Barmby wins his appeal then the facts change from a legal point of view and repeating what Barmby has said ceases to be an issue.
Cameron Stewart's Twitter is currently blank. At least he seems sensible, Bradley & Cooper are very young & really need to watch what they say. Stewart has an out if necessary but the other 2 haven't got much more than a half chance!
Garcia also says that the players knew nothing until they heard it on the radio last Monday. What did the Allams say "we have tried to keep the players informed". yeah nice try and I don't think officially they have still been told anything.
Rich also said Which to me suggests that sure, they'll be pissed off, he was one of them mostly, but at the end of the day, they're professional footballers, they play football, they'll carry on doing that. Hopefully the next manager can get more out of them, especially the strikers, or bring in new strikers. The players I follow all seem to be getting on with enjoying their break, carrying on training. They might be sad Nicks been given the boot but they're not planning a strike, or exodus, and will wait to see who their next boss is.
To be fair, the news leaked, it wasn't like it was an official statement. What do you want the Allams to do? Lock all club staff up until they've told the players?
Again to be fair the official comment made was that they have informed the coaching staff- no comment was made regarding the players being informed.
The Allams said in their HDM interview that they'd tried to keep the players informed. Not very hard, obviously - perhaps their messenger pigeons were shot...
I fail to see what the fuss it about. Clearly there is an internal dispute at management and board level. When it is fully resolved the rest of us - that is the players and fans and media will find out. In the mean time, hold your breath. Barmby made a stupid mistake and he's paying the price for it. I fail to see what the Allams have done wrong. If I was put in their position I would have done something very similar. I work in the real world (like the Allams) not the silly football world. If I put my managing director in a similar position, I would be out the door quicker than you can say 'childish naive idiot'. Barmby has a lot to learn. When I heard his comments on the radio, I remember thinking tio myself - we'll he'll be in the **** if the board are listening to this. It's all come home to roost.
He was only suspended last Monday. They can't tell the players before they tell him. It was leaked almost immediately because there were posts on here early enough on Monday. Since then they can only tell them what it is acceptable to tell them. If your boss at work was suspended then they'd be entitled to confidentiality until the matter was resolved. As far as that goes, all they were allowed to tell the players was he'd been suspended pending disciplinary action.
Frenchy, don't you think thats being a little melodramatic? If you have the money the Allams have earnt and worked hard for, feel free to buy the club and give it away to the fans to run, Im sure that would be a roaring success.
