I thought he had another good game but on his twitter account he says that was probably his last match at the KC.
He did a solid job - I think his problem is that Barmby will have to wheel and deal in the summer + Garcia is someone we might need to let go to bring someone else in - especially if we can't move some of the high earners.
Only reason i can see why we would let him go is to save his wages to allow us to bring someone else in, but i don't see why we have being playing him if he's not going to be here next season. I would give him another year personally, looked alright at RB, and on the wing he is solid enough for back up aslong as he was cheap.
He was never in the side and then all of a sudden he gets in. I thought they were giving him a chance, sort of saying 'earn your new contract' He has played well enough. It's not like he's struggled. They will probably replace him with a young kid on lower wages.
Thought he had a good game today but his legs have nearly gone. He couldn't perform at a consistent level for 46 games next season, therefore so long Rich. I heard he was joining Perth in the Aussie league..
I really don't know why he wasn't given a run in the team he has never let us down , sad to see him go if that's it
I'm far from Garcia's biggest fan but its obvious he provides a natural balance with the other wide played being an unproven young kid whether its King/Brady or Stewart.
Sad to see him go if he doesn't get a new contract as he has had a great run of games recently and has played 8/10 if you ask me.( maybe a 6 or 7 in there)
On the lap of honour, did Garce not come out, or was he the one about 10 yards ahead of the others with his hood up, and a face like thunder? Seemed very strange.
I think that says it all. He knows already. He's had a great career, playing in a World Cup & in the PL with us. Plus he's always been a model pro. He's only 30 which isn't a problem as a central midfielder but as he's a winger your career is shortened when you lose the pace. He's the sort of player who could do a job at Barnsley or Huddersfield though IMO but you wouldn't blame him if he prefers to head back to sunny climes and play a few years down under nearer home..
He has been fantastic for us, a faithful servant, a model pro. GarcÃa will always be a Tiger for me.
If your heading home Rich, so long and thanks, like Ivy said, pro, player and tiger always, good luck
I'd like him to stay. I guess his wages are still pretty big in comparison to others. That, factored in with age, I presume is reason for him heading to the exit? Could be wrong and that. Bit of a shame I think.
He's only 30, and since he's been back in the side he's played well. I really dont understand the decision if I'm honest, his versatility means we dont need right back cover, and I can't imagine his wages will be massive, especially for his experience.
He probably wants more than were prepared to pay him. I remember before his knee injury,he was stalling on a new contract. Anyway he's a good pro and i thank him for his time here !
We're half way through a rebuild. He is a good player who we owe a lot too but I think we'll take whatever wages we can get our hands on. There's better/younger/cheaper/players with more potential out there. No disrespect to the guy but we have to move on.
I heard a couple of weeks ago that he'd bought a new house back in Perth. So long Garce, Thanks for everything.
I disagree, one thing this squad doesn't need is more young players, we need experienced heads who can help bring the youngsters through. I have no idea what money Garcia will be on, but since he signed a deal in January and is desperate to stay I can't see where we'll get anyone his quality for the same price.
